Must be user error :(

Submitted by misterfoz on

After 2 weeks of failing to get Morroblivion to work I gave up and went for Skywind instead (just want to relive that old Morrowind magic!)

I've screwed that up somehow too. What does it mean when you choose to start a new game in Morrowind, and you get an all white screen, except for I can see one hand of the character from the wrist down, and also a couple of baskets flying randomly back and forth? (Could be the same basket going really fast. Suspect the basket is not the key to the problem so not sweating it).

Never heard of that... Try from the main menu to just type in console:

cow wrldMorrowind -5,-5

If even here nothing looks "normal", then it's an install issue. Please screenshot.

Apparently "cow wrldMorrowind -5,-5" is computer for 'please crash Skyrim to desktop immediately'...

I would suggest:

1/ to uncheck all your other mods and test again

2/ if no success, do a fresh install of skywind on a fresh skyrim.

PS: cow wrldMorrowind -5, -5 teleports you to Balmora, it's known to work very well, even for people who installed some things incorrectly.

I downloaded the nexus mod manager, does that work with your stuff? Only I have just fired it up, and it says it has no mods at all (though everything I have downloaded is showing in plugins).

Sorry, this is my first ever experience of this modding stuff, and I have no IT / techie skills whatever.

skywind is not configured for nexus mod manager. You'd better use wrye smash to manage your mods.

Or just load up the Skyrim Launcher, and enable the Skywind.esm and Skywind-Patch.esp from there. That's what I do.

I've never used the comma between -5 and -5...
