How skyrim will effect TES VI

Submitted by SupremeEpicness on

Well it's clear to me how skyrim will effect TES VI.

The Facts

The thalmor ARE NOT the aldmeri dominion. The thalmor are the rulers of the aldmeri dominion. Not everyone in the dominion is a thalmor. This is the purpose of the white gold concordant. If the empire refuses to sign a "PEACE" treaty it will appear to the citizens of the the dominion as if the empire wanted war. When the empire signed the concordant, the thalmor could no longer justify the war in the eyes of the citizens of the dominion. This is why they too wanted peace. if they continued the war they would have their own civil war on their hands. Remember unlike the empire which was formed by conquest, the aldmeri dominion was form by the wisdom of the thalmor. The people of Elswyre Valenwood and Alinor (the thalmor renamed the summerset ilses) put the the thalmor in charge.

The thalmor are the biggest threat in the elder scrolls EVER!!!.
The thalmor want to destroy humanity and become immortal. To do this they must: Destroy the towers (only 1 left), destroy the empire (pretty close if you ask me) remove talos from the pantheon of human religion (done) and kill all humans. With a goal like that, imo, they are worse then dragons.

The thalmor believe the aldmeri story of creation. Most people probably know the human story better then the aldmeri story.

Human version: The aedra were happy with the mortal plane even though they lost some of their power the ones that had no more power left became the first mortals to inhabit nirn, from whom all the mortal races come from.

Elven version: The divine were all tricked by lorkhan and they wanted revenge. They built the adamantine tower (aka ur-tower, aka direnni tower...Aka ada-mantia) to judge lorkhans action the completion of the tower was the end of the dawn era. after lorkhan was judged, auriel (akatosh) and trinumac (he later becomes malacath) left to go kill lorkhan who was at the throat of the world. they took with them the elves that became mortal. Lorkhan in order to combat this created humans to kill elves...... but they screwed up and lorkhan died anyway. humans fled to atamora lorkhan has cut in two and his heart was tied to an arrow and shot into what would later be the red mountain.

Don't think skyrim is simple. Skyrim is filled with tiny bits of information that when combined with all the information from other ES games and info you can get from the developers blogs you can see that it appears bethesda know exactally where this series is headed.

Enough about the thalmor for now what about skyrim's stuff.

Ulfric Stormcloak: he's not the great leader the stormcloaks say he is nor is he the horrible villain the imperial say he is. He was captured by the thalmor and... "conditioned"... to start the civil war. He is very much willing to die for his cause (just look as how he doesn't surrender even after wind helm is sacked and his army killed). on the other hand he DID murder high king torygg. He challenged the king knowing that he was gonna use the thu'um to kill and start a war. Even if it was a match he still knew the king wasn't going to kill him. Even from the sounds of it the king was a wimp anyway, some people said he probably would have caved if ulfric had said let's start a war. Other hand ulfric manged to inspire half of skyrim to fight for a just cause even when the empire wouldn't. still though, Ulfric seem kinda racist. He is destroying the way of life for the dark elves and and claiming it's for the nords. He also seems like he wants to be high king, other wise why would he need to kill torygg. I guess that's not really negative; it's not a crime for people to have personal ambitions.

The nords: They seem extremely racist... well at least the stormcloaks do. Seem almost like white supremacy. White supremacist are pro segregation, stormcloaks are pro segregation. White supremacist are racist, stormcloaks are racist. white supremacists hate to see other races in their cities, stormcloaks hate to see other races in their cities.

The dark brotherhood quest line has 2 ending. Yep, you heard right. you can either kill the emperor or destroy the dark brotherhood(by killing astrid). by the next tes game bethesda has to make both ending somewhat cannon. I can only think of one way.....

The solutions to multiple ending and plot holes:

The thalmor are the solution. by the next elder scrolls game the thalmor will be in control of skyrim and cyrodiil. Here's why:

Q: how can you make both sides of the skyrim civil war canon

A: Destroy the empire. If the empire falls to the thalmor the resolution of the skyrim civil war is void. If Ulfric won the war, the thalmor would kill him and take skyrim. If the empire won the war the thalmor would kill Tullius and still take skyrim

Q:how can you make both sides of the dark brotherhood quest line canon.

A: Again destroy the empire. durring the great war the thalmor killed all of the dark brotherhood, except cicero, in cyrodiil. the thalmor again would kill all of the dark brotherhood if the dragonborn already hasn't and they would kill the emperor if the dragonborn already hasn't.

Why the empire will fall: the empire will fall because no one nation can defeat the thalmor. the only reason hammerfell got out alive is because the thalmor just got out of a war with the empire. The only reason the empire got out alive is because imperials+nords> Aldmeri dominion. This time around skyrim and cyrodiil will both be to weak to defeat the thalmor. the chances of them forming an alliance is very slim to none considering the imperials see the nords as, falsely fighting for talos by destroying talos' greatest lasting effect on nirn... the empire. While the nords see the empire as the ultimate betrayers of talos by renouncing the the person who created the empire.

hammerfell sees the empire as betraying them and skyrim won't even let redguards into whiterun to search for a thalmor sympathizer let alone let armys into skyrim to fight the thalmor.

ysolda said it best "one bad apple spoils the bunch." and if the thalmor just being elves makes all elves bad in the eyes of the stormcloaks then the forsworn being brentons would make all brentons bad in their eyes. and when ever hammerfell and highrock where not in an alliance they fighting over control on the illiac bay(look at the game daggerfall).

Although the threat the thalmor pose supersedes past differences, the human nations are not fully aware of the threat the thalmor pose.

Predictions:

I predict that the thalmor will be in control of cyrodiil and skyrim by the next game and we will probably have to defeat the thalmor from inside the dominion

Sorry for bad english i was really tied when i wrote this... heck im kinda tied of writing this.

I think they should nut up, go all out, take like 6 years and make the entire tamriel continent on like 5 blurays and its like $90.. It's enough time to work on it and it would be right in the sweet spot of the coming next gen consoles. Make it so if you wanted to walk the whole thing it would take 100s of hours just walking in a straight path.. have each province have it's own more or less main quest with all the guilds, all the every things, they could tie in here and there to a more or less main story or not. It would be cool if it just plopped you into this epic place and the only "main quest" is to just go adventure.. find your own main quest.. true freedom.. You start out as a redguard and you get busted slaving so you head to Morrowind first head north then cut south idk.. and along the way you meet a thief and then you here about blah blah blah and bam your on that province thief stuff.. or your a khajiit sailor who against his feline instincts sails all over murdering high profile targets and delving into the ways of provincial governments.. or you start out an argonian prisoner and you breakout and head to (unknown)... basically endless possibilities.. spend like 400 million to make it. Seriously, movies cost a shit ton to make. Now show that the video game medium and market is ready to spend 3 billion dollars plus world wide for the end-all be-all best game of all time.. ever. Bethesda has always raised the bar in most respects, so this time dont just raise the bar, make it untouchable. Make a game that people play and buy for the next 30+ years and after all that time would STILL go back to. Have things so cool and innovative that other companies steal it and they eventually become common place.. and people even come up with cool and catchy slang names for the particular game mechanic that throw back to when TES 6 was new but now the next generation just thinks it's normal stuff for cool games and that nerds suck and COD 48 is hichy (thats the word future ass holes use for cool).

I think the next province should be Hammerfell, and they should release the Summerset Isles and Daggerfall as DLC.

Awesome, glad we share the same views :) I wish Bethesda had done a Shivering Isles sized DLC for Skyrim though...

Shivering isles was by far my favorite, but dragonborn want bad either

Yeah, not long/big enough though...

actually there is another way to avoid the imperial/stormcloak conflict, bethesda can simply make TES 6 contemporaneous with skyrim or even a bit before to explain how  hammerfell  got independence( if next game is there). In my opinion the next game will be in a province controlled by the aldmeri dominion all facts appoint to that:

- ESO story is during the time of the first aldmeri dominion,

- Skyrim story introduces this so hated thalmor

- the psijiic have returned

(but i agree with you guys the game could also be in hammerfell)

All tes games had the empire (I mean I cant think an tes game without the imperial influence) but there is one thing that can save the empire: a Sload invasion from Thras

Why you ask, they have been dormant for so long why not to attack their old enemies while they are focused with the empire?

I know they are arrogant so probably because they think they are the best, their forces would concentrate in the borders, and have you seen how many thalmor were in skyrim a province which doesn t even have frontiers with the dominion? I mean they surely spend a lot of manpower only to search people who pray to Talos so i think summerset isles would be surely attacked by sloads they probably dont have many forces there.

what do you think of my theory?

i have to disagree with you Khar'lor. in other games where you have a lot of different environments and nature, it never really feels immersive enough. one of the reasons TES games are so epic is because you can feel the artists and developers have had a focus. See morrowind for example, Morrowind has this unique vibe to it, and i don't think it is possible for one company to include so much diversity and at the same time be able to give the regions the attention they need to be epic in every aspect. i rather want a smaller part of tamriel which feels complete instead of the whole thing, because i am almost certain it would be incomplete. the idea to make the whole of Tamriel should be saved for when every zone has had its glory. just my point of view though.

While I agree that the dragons are nowhere near as intimidating as the Thalmor (unfortunately, as I see it, due to game balancing, otherwise you'd be playing dark souls,) I don't really think the Thalmor are the most evil villain faced so far in elder scrolls history. I mean if you look back, just at the last two games, a myth rises up from history and tries to rebuild the Dwemer construct once used by the empire to take over (almost) all of Tamriel, all the while "blessing" his followers and turning them into twisted ghouls and monsters, then one of the more destrictive daedric princes assassinated the emperor to break the covenant between gods and men, rips a hole in oblivion and attempts to take over all of Nirn.

But like OP mentioned, there's a lot more to the lore than what's in the game. From what I get out of it, the Thalmor are like Tamriel's version of the Nazi party. They "helped out" (read: quietly invaded) Valenwood, since they didn't have a central government, then they tricked the Khajiit into believing that they ended the Void Nights, then once they had enough power, began religious persecution of Talos worshipers and beat the empire to a pulp till it caved and signed the White Gold Concordant. But still. In the grand scheme of things, there have been worse threats to Tamriel.

I'd honestly rather see Akavir invade again, But if I had to stick with the Thalmor in TES VI, I would want to be a Khajiiti freedom fighter, reuniting Elsweyr to expose and drive out the Thalmor as the frauds that they are.

a the akavir the continent we knowe littel about and is the only continent exsept for tameriel that didnt go down and got the race's living there moved to tameriel its to big for a dlc  and doesnt seem the style of bethesda to become a elder scroll number  hoping it wil be a game probely somthing like redguard a elder scroll story ore battelspire (if u are a lore nerd u should play them )ore if we look at its brother game serie like  new vegas

got to love elder scroll for having a rich history

Idk a team of like 200-300 people working for 6 years would have more then enough time to make it immersive. Also I dont think the aldmeri dominion or the thalmor will be the main focus. They are to "worldly", I mean there to normal. They always have some epic bad guy that's evil from divine power and wants to destroy the entire world, not just a gang of dick heads lol Either way I hope they take there time.

I don't know about you but I'd take crazy, mischievous Gods who bicker among themselves more than they interfere in the lives of mortals over a absolute dictatorship who has issues with tolerance and was formed solely on people believing they are smarter than everyone else...I mean that's a Devil you know scenario...

I didn't even know anyone replied.

@LASentry I don't think the next game will be hammerfell. They already did part of hammerfell in daggerfall.I also don't think we'll be seeing the summerset ilse as a dlc for it that'd be like making skyrim a dlc for something the size of morroblivion. To much work would have to be put in and in the end it would cost like 40$ and that would deter people from buying it. still, I wouldn't rule out a game set in hammerfell. "Ada mintia" is near hammerfell and i could see the thalmor trying to deactivate the tower.

@silvermoder: I could see them doing a game during or before the events of skyrim. but I'd rather see how tamriel changes in the future. I also think your right about where the next game will be set. but I don't think sload can save the empire. The multiple ending of skyrim must all be cannon and i don't see them all being cannon if the empire is still around.

I never played a TES game where the mages guild wasn't present but in skyrim they disbanded the mages guild.

@longboardlemon/Khar'lor:

The thalmor want to end the mortal cycle which would kinda end all of mundus. So they're really not worldly. and they thalmor are far more evil then jargar tharn(he just pretented to be the emperor) manimarco (he was in alot of games) dagoth( the blight seemed a little anticlimactic in the end. It didn't feel like he was gonna take over the whole world with a disease) dagon (he just wanted to blow some crap up) and alduin . They never made it completely clear what he wanted, was he trying to do, enslve humans or end the world. either way he was just doing his job akatosh made alduin to end and reboot the mortal cycle the dragonborn just got in the way. that's why you can't absorb alduin's soul.

on the other hand you have Elder scroll nazi equivalents trying to basically destroy the solar system by ending the mortal cycle.

who do you think is the greatest evil here?

it's like if the empire in oblivion was trying to kill all elves. you have the strongest nation on tamiel as the bad guys. not just a small faction a NATION.

(SPOILERS)

The tricky part is, in the Skyrim main storyline, you yourself decide who wins the civil war, who will be the next High King, whether or not Talos will be worshiped and how the non-nords should be treated. If you ignore the civil war before trapping the dragon at Dragons keep you have to negotiate who gets specific cities. This al makes a sequel that does not contradict one decision or the other difficult.

Then again, you never actually see the Moot happen and it's strongly implied that the Thalmore are just biding their time and fully intend to start another Great War against the Empire regardless of who owns Skyrim. If TES VI (Or VII, does TES Online count as TES VI?) takes pace during or after the next war between the Empire and the Thalmore, then it doesn't matter who was King. The Empire will be like, "Fine, Worship Talos. Worship Mehrunes Dagon. Worship troll dung for all I care. Just kill some elves! NO! Not those elves! The yellow ones! Leave the grey ones alone!"

As for the setting, personally I think I'd like to see either Argonia or Elswyr. The Lore implies there's several types of Khajiit that vary from pointy-eared humans wearing cat makeup to full quadrupeds,  and a few things between. Also the Khajiit worship the same aedra and daedra as everyone else but under different names and claim at least some of them to be cats. The Daedric Princes are shape shifters after all and I think it'd be interesting to see whether or not Nocturnal or Sheogorath turn into cats there. Moleg Baal will probably assume the form of a lion or something. I predict an Egyptian feel to the Dibella statues. Can't imagine Mara, goddess of monogamous love, would be very popular with cats.

Why would Online count as TES VI? It's set in the second era, 1000 years before Skyrim.
