Messed up dialogue

Submitted by Seferoth on
I am using the Morrowind_ob.esm project 014 and everything worked out greatly, but i noticed that all people greets me with these lines when i start to chat with them= "How can i help fellow vampire?" or "Where i can help you?"...no one in Cyrodiil says anything different. Also i noticed that Asciane Rane did not teleport me to Mournhold. So if you guys can help me it would really be appreciated.

I have seen the "Where I can help you?" before as well, but, it is NOT anywhere is v014. I have specifically gone looking for that one because it bugged me, but it is nowhere to be found. There is NO line of dialong in this file that contains "where can I help." I also cannot find "How can I help a fellow Vampire?" These Must be from a different mod.

Actually i noticed that those weird dialogues left immediatly when i deactivated Morrowind_ob.esm. Also i did wrote wrong dialogue last time, the dialogue they say is= "Yes? what do you ask of your fellow Vampires?" and it only happens when im vampire and talk to people in Cyrodiil.

OK, thank you, that brought me right to the naughty line. This one is supposed to ONLY if you are in one of a number of different cells in Morrowind where Vampires hang out. Unfortunately, the "And" criteria was at the bottom instead of the top, and I believe that is wrong. I have moved it to the top for the next release. I will keep looking for "Where can I help you," but as I've said, I've already looked several times. I cannot imagine where that is coming from. Who speaks that to you? And where? Is that the exact text?

That "Where i can help you" line appeared at every NPC, like that vampire line, but it seems that "Where i can help you" line disappeared when i reinstalled some of my mods a few minutes back, so it was most likely related to some other mods. By the way, thank you for all your hard work that you have done for this project. I am so happy that Morroblivion is alive and growing.

Thank you. Just out of curiosity, what mod? I'd like to know where that comes from.

Cant be completely sure but i think it was that "Lost Spires" or M.O.E mods. I reinstalled about 20 mods and when i loaded my game, that "Where i can help you?" line was gone. Im still not sure that it was becouse of that, i did not had that line before the Morrowind_ob.esm, but still that line disappeared after reinstalling those mods...this goes over my head...XD

I have some experience using the construction set and i would like to ask how to fix this dialogue problem myself. At the same time i could get some experience how to work with Dialogue texts.

Fixing it is easy. Finding it has proven to be the hard part. I have searched through the CS. I have exported the dialog to a text file and searched there. "Where can I help" is not there. If you can find it, I can fix it, but as far as I can tell this is from some other mod.

Actually i meant how to fix the "Vampire" line. How to find and fix that one?...XD

I tryed to find this "Yes? what do you ask of your fellow Vampires?" line from filtered dialogue section in construction set, but i could not find it. Could you David point me the direction where to find this one. I would like to try to fix that one myself. Mostly becouse i want more experience using the construction set. Thanks for advance. There are two tools you can use in the cs. The "Use Info" helps locating items if you know which item you are looking for but want to know where to find it. The "Find Text" locates pretty much everything else. The "Find" ONLY works if you are editing a script. Find Text will tell you the Topic and Quest. Use the Quests Window to locate it. In this case you are looking for "GREETING" in MorroDefaultQuest. At that point it gets worse because there are a couple hundred Responses in the Greeting Topic, and they are not in any particular order and cannot be ordered. Basically search through them. Be prepaired; this is very tedious. This is why I have been trying to move the topics to individual quests as I go along. The thing I am trying for this is to move the "AND" criteria to the top of the list instead of having it at the bottom. I do not totally understand how the game decides And/Or priority & grouping, but from what I have seen, AND needs to be at the top. Failing that, I will remove all the Cell OR conditions and replace it with something along the lines of checking whether the NPC is in the 0factMorro Faction AND is also a Vampire.

Thanks for the info. I changed the "AND" criteria to top and it worked. NPC dont say that annoying line anymore. Seferoth
