a good start! :) to get rocky shapes in zbrush, use the trim dynamic and trim smooth border brushes with a square alpha.

make those shapes sharper, because they will be compressed into low poly, decimated to around 10-15k, then they're UVd to a texture.

no creature : (

desert rocks ?

Looking good man, I can't wait to see which texture you apply to them. What region are they going in? Azura's coast? Sheogorad?

Is it a strange thing that I can never get enough of rocks.

Love the concept, perhaps northern ashlands? like the really barren area north of red mountain and coming up to grazelands.

If im correct stone formations like that tend to crop up in more windy environments. More specifically ones that are also dusty, where the tiny debris carried by the wind eventually wheres down the stone.  Though I could easily be wrong.  :/ At any rate it looks great, and i agree with happy. Would probably work great there.

Oh man, that model rocks!

Yeah, i went there.

So ther is this the game called Morrowind. Its set it an environment where storms blow through carrying ash and debris. A storm almost everyday. Sounding familiar?

using the same models, but different textures, we could use these for northern ashlands.

But with the standard sediment textures, these are to be used for west gash.
remember, aside from grazelands, westgash is having its concept changed the most.

<3

thats the low poly yes?
I vote you do plenty more, though we do need some specific shapes.
Will discuss with others.

Dude, I was agreeing with you on there placement. Calm down. I was nearly pointing out why they would go good in the games overall setting. And that they should be used in the more open and windy environments of vvardenfell.

I hate it when people tell others to calm down when they weren't even riled up in the first place, they were just making a point.

Happychappy was coming across as condescending in his post, so yeah, Bluesausage was telling him to calm down.

Yeah I was being condescending. I thought it was the usual "we hate this idea but we don't help the project" we get from people. My apologies.

Oh well, I stand corrected then. Sorry guys. Anyway, the new rocks look great!

remember we need a fair few normal square west gash rock piles, so only do a few more arches.

Can you use Trim Border SMooth brush with a square alpha to create strong layered sediment shapes?

nice

Me likes!!!

Hey looks awesome but Kurasaki you may want to avoid the red color because thats actually caused by oxidised copper which I don't think would be in that sorta area also its more ashed in so I think the ash would build up into rocks which could be formed into arches if it rains allot in that area so I think it would be better to go with a darker color like you did in thread #17.

dont worry we can play with colour variations later, although west gash does have a redish/orange tone to the rock. As you go north and east, the tones darken and turn grey as you near the ash lands

Holy shit. you pump these out fast and they look amazing!

kurasaki do you even sleep, bro? :D

you are pushing the skywind project further every time you release something! the creatures look great and the landscapers will love your statics to work with!

as someone who is in the forums here and just a long-time-lurker i admire how high-quality and how time-efficient and fast you work!

you are the man!

It seems to be a man, but I will not argue.smiley

epic :)) i thought the same thing =))) o/

Wow, these just keep looking better and better! In Morrowind, they tended to use less saturated rocks, so are these textures final? Personally I would prefer the ones closer to what you have now because for some reason Bethesda never ever do brown rocks lmao.

The world space lighting tends to desaturate colourful textures, so you don't really have to worry about it.

You have to have really bright colours for them to show up in Skyrim, and the same for how we set the colours in Skywind.

Ah yes, I can see how that works. So there isn't going to be an imagespace correction like in Skyblivion?

You keep getting better. Keep them coming.

Those rocks are insane, it is always good to be back at home and see another of those marvels, (and they will be so useful for me because i am starting landscaping the Ashlands, i will probably release something next week, so sooner or later you will see these beautiful rocks in game)
