[RELz] Scamp

Submitted by Ravanna on

only just started the design, spent an hour or 2 in zbrush.

its rigged and posed to falmer.
I may shrink the legs a bit.
Wanted it to be a bit more demonic, and slightly bat-like.

the furtrher concept on the right adds the feathery/hairy legs, the correct colour sh, and some horns for ... well i dunno, cos its demonic

thoughts?

I see no faults in the overall design. I think it looks great.

looks good. but scamps with fur? ehhhh they never really had fur in oblivion, morrowind or in battlespire. it would feel out of place to me.

they actually had fur in both oblivion and morrowind. It was all just done in the textures though, and not molded into the actual model itself due to graphical limitations.

why horns? the rest i like but the horn i am sorry to say the are just ugly and i hate them no other scamps ever got horns just a nice round bald head

I love the scamp model! However, I have to agree with no1.

In my own opinion, the scamps shouldn't have any horns unless they are some sort of special scamp.

The subtle horns in my very humble opinion make them visually more Daedra and beast, avoiding possible confusion with the Falmer or Goblin races.

Face boneless or wool can be made in the same manner as in Skyrim.

I have to agree with happy chappy. The horns make it looks more like a daedra. But that's just my 2 cents.

as a measure to please both parties, we will make two versions, common scamps without horns, and "boss" scamps with horns.

i didn't want to start a big discussion about it because no1 gets happy about that i just like to comment on stuf

but a boss scamp make's me think about  a deadric  creature from battel spire the herne  and it is family of the scamp so horns arnt that wierd to bad this guy isnt in morrowind

Problem solved scale him up clutter and beef up his horns and call him a herne or whatever, I all for reviving some of the older creatures that would fit in morrowind, for example I really wanna see all three forms of the dreugh

I've never seen so much hullabaloo over some tiny feature on creature before, since the missing nipple on Ogrim. And we know how that turned out, so better keep it civil people!

"And we know how that turned on"

Fixed for you :)

Don't listen to them Ravanna, scamp is awesome, those who disagree are lore whiners.

i also remember glowing eye's glitch from dreugh on a ash ghoul i think it was and the legs on a clifracer indecision there are always haters and lover  but i stil got horrors from your nipple ring picture

The horns looks too silly and out of place, if you have to have horns can't you make them either smaller devil-like or at least straight and not curved like a derpy goat.

you guys are all horn-ists!

Hm, from the design point of view - I think Morrowind should go as far as possible from stereotypes. As long as the horns won't make the Scamp look like some generic imp I'm okay with them ;)

What I'd really like though is a bit bigger ears with some kind of piercings - preferably JINGLY BELLS :D

This scamp looks incredible. He looks like he was born with genetic defects. It gives him a lot personality. Well done.

I'm having a lot of fun imagining the voice-over for the scamp merchant.

Has someone already done it?!

"Don't want to work. Just want to bang on my drum"

Apparently, according to Barbas's dialogue in Oblivion, it hints that he took on the form of a scamp and actually is creeper: "For a while I was a scamp, making deals with Orcs". So maybe his voice would sound like Barbas's.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHu_O_N6dM8

And maybe he could be holding a drum if you want to make him look unique.

That looks amazing by the way

Since he's enjoying the company of orsimers in that era, maybe he could be wearing a few pieces of orcish ornaments or jewelry? The drum might be the simpler way to go though, so whatever works best with you. He was always my go-to merchant in the game :P

Kewl, I'll set up the Creeper Merchant when he's released. I just hope I remember how I made the Mudcrab Merchant!

We'll also have to fix Creeper and the Orc's factions, or you're going to find a dead Scamp in the house when you want to visit Creeper.

You have a nude mod on the first pic ? [and THAT was my 1000th post - such a shame :P ]

Also, on the topic of variety, as well as the Herne, you could also include the Morphoid. Far as i know it's not actually related like the Scamps and Hernes are, but they're otherwise very similar.
