It will take more then that
It will take more then that eloth you helpfull bugger you.
ok then, download cs,
ok then, download cs, install nifskope, download mods, use nifconverter which is included in morroblivion(drag nif files onto the nifconverter icon(do i really need to explain what an icon is?), and voila, copy converted meshes to oblivion\data\meshes\ directory and then open up cs, the rest is easy enough to find out :P was that better?
some people will never do an effort to actually learn how incredible easy it is to do stuff like this
Ok thanks
I i will try this. i already know nifscope a bit and the cs.
ok problem. when i drag mesh
ok problem. when i drag mesh onto icon i get a cmd box that appears and disapears really fast. i have no idea how the nif converter works. i just drag morrowind nifs in and then what? Where do they go?
they go to the same
they go to the same directory as the original morrowind mesh, it has the same name, only "_ob.nif" added to the end of the name
Doesnt work
Cant find it anywhere.
nifconv cant convert meshes
nifconv cant convert meshes with particles, or animation if thats what your trying to do.
also you must first copy the meshes you want to convert into the same directory where
nifconv.exe file exists!
Still not working
I copy my meshe into the directory where the file is. I move the mesh into the icon (the mesh has no animations btw) and still cant find it afterwards
It was the mesh
I tried another and it worked. Guess it was the mesh
try to load the meshes that
try to load the meshes that couldnt be converted in nifskope, and delete all NiBSparticle nodes, basicly everything except the meshes, save it, and try to convert it again.
Dont see those nodes
Dont see those nodes
which nodes do you see?
which nodes do you see?

This is a screen shot of the cmd before it goes away [External image]
that model should convert
that model should convert easily, its made for morrowind?
Yes
It is. whatever i will just convert the other ones
the message in the cmd
the message in the cmd window says it has converted the mesh and named it "furn_carriage_ob.nif
so if you cant find it thats weird
For everyone trying this
For everyone trying this this is what I did.
You get all your textures in one folder then with your photo editor. I use ACDSee 6.0 . You changed there size to 256/256 and saved them as a BMP. Then find a program to change them to DDS format so Oblivion can see them I used ddsconvert 1.0. Then you put all your new textures in the textures folder in the Oblivion Data folder.
I tryed other sized textures and they dident show up and saving them in anything other then BMP made them off color in NifSkope.
Now for the Nifs or Meshes. Download the Morroblivion ESPConvertor install it anywhere. Open its folder and take your Nif files and copy and past them in the ESPConverter folder. One at a time drag and drop them on the NIF_conv file. They are instantly converted to Oblivion Nifs and have _ob added to the end of them so you can tell them apart from the old nifs in the folder.
Now you can open your new Oblivion nifs in NifSkope rightclick a nif and open with NifSkope. You will see your nif and a column of data. In the column you will see The texture data for each part of your nif. Click the texture data for each part of your nif and browse to the textures you put in the Oblivion Data folder.
Back in the data column you will see Editable Mesh. Rightclick on this and you can add Havok to your nif. Havok works like collision. But I was having trouble with this on complex nifs. Im new to NifSkope. Save your nifs in the Oblivion meshes folder. Now you can add them to your mod in the Construction Set. I found some of the old Morrowind nifs would not convert so I ran them through Milkshape and saved them as nifs again.
