morroblivion esp files not being detected?

Submitted by CruXii on

Hey guys

I've just installed morroblivion and am keen to try it out. I've installed the unofficial oblivion patch, OBSE and Ely's silent voice. I've also got oblivion mod manager. I've now ran the master file installer and copied the complete resources into the oblivion data folder as well as the hotfix. However, when I run oblivion mod manager I can only select morrowind_ob.esm. None of the .esp files are appearing. When I run oblivion I get an error message stating that the morroblivion .ini file is missing. The ship that takes you to morrowind isn't there either. I'm guessing you need to .esp files for that. Any ideas as to what I've done wrong?

You've installed resourses in the wrong place. Use Wrye Bash for 2 Gb archive, it will copy everything in the correct folders.

Ok I've downloaded Wrye bash and dragged the complete resources and hot fix into Oblivion Mods\Bahs Installers. Then I opened Wrye bash and went to the installers tab, right clicked on both and selected install. The .esp files did not show up in the mods tab.... The checkbox next to resources file is red. Any ideas?

Wrye Bash put the esp files in a folder called 00 Core in my Oblvion Data folder. I had to take them out of that and dump them into the main Data folder to make Morroblivion work.

Despite advice to use Wrye Bash and comments that make it appear that unsuccesful installs are always the fault of the hapless gamer it seems to me that the Morroblivion team could provide more helpful advice.

Thanks Nadder! I've taken all the files from the 00 and 01 subfolders and just chucked them in the Data folder. Everything is working fine now :).

Yep Wrye Bash is not fool proof - took me ages to work out what to do!

Er- is it worth adding this tip to a sticky?
