Problems Editing Keening in the CS

Submitted by scotty35503 on

Okay, this is a personal preference, but I feel that Keening should probably be a better weapon than even Goldbrand, so I wanted to up the damage to at least 29.

However, when I edit the weapon's damage in the construction set, it doesn't change in the game. I'm running v060, if that helps.

If anyone can help me with this, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

Keep up the great works, guys!

Have you activated the esp you created? And do you have any other mods loading after it?

Yes, I've made sure tom activate it and I've made certain that it is at the bottom of my load order.

Something strange happened when i got Keening from Odrosal, though. If I remember correctly, Keening was on an altar like thing in a room all it's own, when I played Morrowind.

But in Morroblivion, I found Keening on the body of Dagoth Odrosal, himself after I killed him. The way I understood it was that a key to the room containing Keening was supposed to be on his body, instead. Could this ben something changed in Morroblivion that is affecting my editing of the item in the CS?

No, it doesn't matter from where you got it.

Post your load order and the esp you made here.

Also, keep in mind that damage displayed in UI is adjusted to your skill and is not the same as the value you set in CS. Try setting it very high (like 1000), and see if it changes ingame.

still not really sure what was wrong, but my tweaks eventually worked. At first, they wouldn't show in-game. Sorry I never followed up, but I had some family troubles and didn't have time to play the game any.

Thanks for devoting your time to help me! I love the work you guys do.

While this thread is still close to the top, let me ask another question. I've become a vampire with the Quarra bloodline, but all of the Druscashti vampires (and all vampires, for that matter) attack me on sight. I've tried using the console commands to set tHeir disposition and to stop combat, but they just put their weapons down and then start attacking again.
