Not necessarily ... there are plenty of good engines for the PC. Cry-engine, Dunyia, Id tech ... heck even unreal is better than gamebryo.
Well... They did just buy id...
Think about it. id tech on an elder scrolls game? The absolutely superior technology of id and bethesda's epic storytelling? I think this might end up being the best video game of all time.
Note: My prediction is biased because id and bethesda have both been my favorite companies since daggerfall came out.
Not useing ID Tech
Bethesda have confirmed that they arnt useing Id Tech 5, they've hinted that they are useing something allong the lines of their previous engines, so I'd expect a more evolved version of the gamebryo. Hopefully it will be far better than what we've seen so far, although at the times they came out the TES:4 and TES:3 engines were pretty good, and at least they're relativley easy to use.

Well at least peoples heads no longer look like soccer balls. They are shaped more like real people. The menus are pretty rockin' too :)

Yea, enchanting is back. But the game is said to actually have three fewer skills in total compared to oblivion. I just hope that they didn't make any of those "axes=hammers" type of things :p
