Hey guys, I needed to copy over some assets so that they didn't depend on the Dragonborn DLC. So I copied the meshes to Skyrim\Data\Meshes\morrowind\landscape\azurascoast and the textures to Skyrim\Data\Textures\morrowind\landscape\azurascoast but when I open CK to use them, nothing appears in the object window - not even a folder called azurascoast. I also tried putting the new assets in the original azuracoast folder but nothing happened either.
Won't they still be in the
Won't they still be in the dlc02 folder though? It would be best to have them in the morrowind folder, wouldn't it?
There is a difference between
There is a difference between using vanilla assets and copying them. The former is what we are aiming for, the later is what will make Skywind banned.
Ah ok. But just to clarify,
Ah ok. But just to clarify, by doing this, people won't have to have Dragonborn to have these assets in Skywind?
they would still need the
they would still need the dragonborn expansion to play the game, whether or not we take those assets from the bsa.
we're using lots of stuff from dragonborn, such as skeletons, soundtrack etc
Oh well in that case it
Oh well in that case it doesn't matter. I guess who ever told me that it mattered to have my mod not depend on Dragonborn is wrong.
Usage of assets and esm file
Usage of assets and esm file dependency are two different things, I'm pretty sure that it could still cause problems if merged the way it is, but it is possible to change that without having to redo anything. Any files from Dragonborn are free to use, it just shouldn't have the esm file selected.
It is possible to change that
It is possible to change that without redoing anything? That's what I've been trying to find out - how do I do this?
I posted a solution I found
I posted a solution I found on yourlandscaping thread, but basically once all the Dragonborn assets that were used are renamed, the master files can be redirected to another master file in Wyre Bash. From there, reopen the creation kit and when selecting your esp, if you click on the extra master files and press ctr delete, you can remove the dependency.
The Wyre bash step might not be necessary, but I heard that there might be problems separating it from Dragonborn and update.esm directly
Sweet, thanks! This new
Sweet, thanks! This new organization method on the forums is quite annoying.
Having Skywind.esm use
Having Skywind.esm use Skyrim.esm and Dragonborn.esm is a huge nono. You'll make Zilav and Digital not happy if Skywind has anymore masters.
Yeah I've already sorted this
Yeah I've already sorted this out and uploaded a new esp earlier today.

You don't need to copy the
You don't need to copy the actual files, only duplicate and rename records using them from Dragonborn.esm
