Character Personalization Overhaul Expectations?

Submitted by The Dark Crystal on

I wanted to post a quick forum to express a few strong desires that I personally would love to see in the development of Skywind. When I was little I remember that personalizing morrowind characters was always a load of fun that seemed completely open and free to whatever I could think of. I understand that this is not entirely true, but it "felt" like it when I started playing years ago. To see this dream realized, the following is a list of features I hope to see:

Left and right independent variables (interchangeable left and right gauntlets and grieves.)

multi stack helmets (allow head bands, hoods, and helmets to be worn simultaneously)

Unlimited Jewelry (Facial piercing and rings) (Multi stack as well)

Clothing Dye  (replaces Armour and clothes textures with ones based on color used)

Flowing Hair (I want that hair to move in the wind)

Salons (shops that change hair styles without resetting character the way showracemenu does.)

Over coats (stack over armors without removing their textures.)

VAMPIRE FACE DESIGN!!! :D (upon being turned into a vampire, a similar show race menu appears, but with new features like different styles of fangs, horns, skin tightening and shading, Eye color, veins... etc. )

Dual Sheathes (duel wielding now includes a sheathe on each side of player)

Accessory stacking (allows weapons to be equipped like armor to decorate the player with their most prized trophy weapons)

Equippable Key chain (same idea as above)

House lock and unlock feature (without using cheats, include animations that allows any player that possesses the key to a building to lock or unlock doors.

Acrobatics training once more (please bring back the ability to jump higher, run faster and last longer under water based on training like in Oblivion.)

In order to keep a character from becoming too OP by stacking many armors and items, give each slot a priority box and external boxes... Priority box is where the item with the best stats goes that will affect the players' stats. The external boxes do not increase or decrease stats, but allow for styling the players appearance.

These are just some ideas I have for this project, and I know some of these will be harder to implement than others, but I hope it gives everyone some vision and ideas on future tasks that would really go a long way in improving the Skywind Experience.

A lot of mods on the Nexus already do a lot of these things for Skyrim (even hair physics!) so it might be worth looking into for your own personal experience playing Skywind. We can't use those mods to put them into the main file unless we have explicit permission from the author to do so. If they don't want to - you may be out of luck. For now our resources must really go towards rebuilding the assets, the sounds and the quests.

-Find modding resources for these ideas.
-Ask author for permission or backwards engineer their mods.
-Make them compatible with Skywind
-Implement them yourself.
-Be considered part of the team when you contribute these.

Ideas mean almost nothing, do them.
