Love the shape, but shouldn't there be a piece over the eyes for the glass armor? While I understand that mechanically that may not make the most sense, glass "lenses" do make sense when considering the harsh weather of the ash lands. Also I really miss the closed-helm feel of the Morrowind glass armor set :P
maybe you could show us what you have in mind? I personally think that the concept helmet looks awesome but maybe u have something in mind that looks even better :)
someone makes one helmet like dragomir concept for those who like it and another helmet different for those who don't
i know its extra work but i think discussing which concept is better might not lead anywhere and this way everyone is happy (but Kurasaki model in the end might please everyone so, wait for it... and if not make a helmet like dragomir's concept)
I think that the helmet looks good in the concept art too however the actual armor portion is what i think is the coolest part to it. If you show us your helmet with glass goggles along with staying true to the rest of the armor style, it may look pretty cool.
I really like the glass helmet in the concept. But the thing is is that we could do two pieces. Because it would make sense that there would be two pieces. One for the Ashlanders and the other the for the imperials or something like that.
Who actually? I think the mask was the coolest part of the whole design, and many others seemed to agree :P I'm afraid a different helmet might not work with the rest of the armor (which is very Dunmer in looks), but we'll see.
All in all, I think it should be down to the devs, would be a shame to not have that glass mask in game though.
And about a different glass version - I was already designing one. This would be the glass armor, expensive stuff for the rich (buoyant armigers etc). I had another concept in progress which is a raw glass armor - something much like an ashlander netch armor, but with raw glass pieces sawn onto it.

That sounds pretty cool. I think that's a good idea :)
so i've held off quite a while to make an account here and join in on the skywind discussions, but for me i thought that this was important enough to say. i want you all to know that this is how u kill an artist. let kurasaki finish the helmet before telling him he shouldn't use it.
I prefer dragomir's helmet design BUT I really like yours too, I wish you could find a way to incorporate yours in something else. Maybe make it a unique helmet for an NPC.
They both look amazing, there could be open faced and full helm variants to use them both, considering there are a lot of Bonemold variants already, and we are doing the same with Dwemer armor.
I also prefer dragomir's design because I think it has a look more native to the dunmers, yours looks more altmerish to me. Both helmets looks great so we could do as iceflame542 suggests and have variants of the glass helmets which would actually be very cool imho.
Since you have obviously made and baked 2 we may as well use them.
Its going to be a bit of work doing a glass shader, thats something the lads will play with.

Thing is much more complicated than that. We are making a very big project, with a really big world to fill in. Thing is, items must not only look good, but they must fit the rest.
You see - consistency in design is essential to properly portray - in this particular example - Dunmer culture.
All of my designs are really thought throught very thoroughly, and making things too different from them makes my hard work (harder than you imagine) redundant. I'm not overly sensitive though, and the last word should probably always belong to the devs.
If every modeller would do what he (or she perhaps) finds good looking, we might end up with armors that look good outside of the game, but don't seem to belong in it's world. That is why graphic design is important, not only to give modellers ideas, but also to keep everything consistent in it's looks.
But in the end, I'm always all for diversity, so having both designs doesn't bother me at all.
@dragomir, i understand need for consistency, and i also can understand that offering suggestions and concept art can be helpful, i'm only pointing out that people shouldn't try to devalue the work of others, merely show them how, or what to improve.
We've conducted a poll yesterday on our vk.com page (vk. com/wall-36663432_17139 - sorry for such link; spam filter would block me otherwise). Here are the results as for now:
Open helmet -150 people (42.7%)
Closed helmet - 201 people (57.3%)
I personally prefer the Dragomir's design a bit more, but the I like the details of your original design, especially the raw glass on the top. Maybe you could change it a bit so it would better match with the Dragomir's version. Anyways, you rock and I would like to see both of them in game.
If we had to choose one, I'd go with Dragomir's version.
...
I absolutely love the detail for the glass at the top of the open-faced mask. It looks like the rock grew naturally into this shape rather than being sculpted and polished. Suggestion; maybe try to take Dragomir's ''mask'' portion of his helmet and stick it in front of your design? Or create your own face-mask for your helmet? I honestly love it and think filling it up would make it Dunmer-appropriate like nothing else.
I'd imagine it would be hardened with kwama wax mixed with ash.
Well I'm sorry Dragomir , I was just concept art but art was not
one thing i realy like about the project is the fact you guys are making your own designs based on the concept art of morrowind
blank glass helmet armor.

Not to forget Dragomirs concept for glass armor
in this concept I will change only helmet.
do the helmet as you see in dragomirs concept, its awesome.
and I did not like , and many others too
maybe you could show us what you have in mind? I personally think that the concept helmet looks awesome but maybe u have something in mind that looks even better :)
I think it would look better if it looked like the concept but with the helmet just have small glass goggles and the rest like a mask.
i think this is the solution :
someone makes one helmet like dragomir concept for those who like it and another helmet different for those who don't
i know its extra work but i think discussing which concept is better might not lead anywhere and this way everyone is happy (but Kurasaki model in the end might please everyone so, wait for it... and if not make a helmet like dragomir's concept)

cool, coming along nicely!
Yeah, definitely do multiple versions of the Glass armor if possible. Then it's up to the play what pieces they wanna use ingame.

Both are sweet. A tribal and maybe an imperial variation. Keep it up! :D

Сделай оба. Второй вариант всегда можно добавить или как разновидность, или как артефакт например. Лично мне твоя модель нравится больше :)
most agrea the both very cool and would be oke to see them both ingame
Yeah, since you've done both I see no problem with having a glass mask AND a glass helmet.
Since you have obviously made and baked 2 we may as well use them.

I'm for both. Each artist has their own idea of a beautiful
I'm for making Kurasaki's variant a unique helmet on a high elf or something.
Dragomir's looks more native to Morrowind so that would make sense being the common variant. Both look great though!
The one on the left is beautiful and ornate. Kingly even. The one on the right strike me more as ashlander. Use both.
@dragomir, i understand need for consistency, and i also can understand that offering suggestions and concept art can be helpful, i'm only pointing out that people shouldn't try to devalue the work of others, merely show them how, or what to improve.
i find myself agreeing with the use of both.

I think thats the closed helmet looks amazing! but it seems that you are going to use both so thats good news for both parties :p
I can make glass environment map when I get new computer, should be here today or on Monday.
make one standard and the other as a glass artifact :)

Looks cool so far!
