This thread is dedicated to my landscaping work for the Northern West Gash. I will upload screenshots and files for everyone to test here.
Just don't overdo with rocks
Just don't overdo with rocks please, there are over means of landscaping besides slapping rocks everywhere.
You put a rock in the Silt
You put a rock in the Silt Strider's leg! But ya what Zilav said, landscaping doesn't just mean insert rocks everywhere. Also, you should probably fix the ground textures in that town(I think it's Khuul). Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing more!
I put them along the edge to
I put them along the edge to give an eroded look (make it look rounded) but I am planning on leaving quite a bit to be just ground... As I said, I need some good textures for that area that don't tile too badly :)
Ohh I'm digging the
Ohh I'm digging the polished/canyon sort of formations. Definitely makes the west-gash feel a little more natural. I hope you'll keep a few of those round arches though! Always had me think they were solid geysers of magma that just froze solid after a Red Mountain eruption or something. This is some of your best work so far by a long shot, LA! ;)
the cliff near the silt
the cliff near the silt strider needs to be a cliff face, and nothing elaborate, but u may have to wait for more meshes, how many of Kura rocks did u recieve?
North west gash is a different area to core west gash so no need to adhere to special designs yet.
Here is the concept and references for west gash.
Remember to view it as a series of valleys.

Ok sweet Rav I'll keep the valleys in mind - yes I have already changed the rocks under the silt strider to cliffs (I did it about 10 minutes after taking the screenshots :D)

Latest Screenshots. There are
Latest Screenshots. There are a few holes, some broken collision and some ground textures that need fixing but this is what I did just last night:

We really need to remove/fix eye adaptation in Skywind. Oh and everything looks better in game.
I absolutely love what you've
I absolutely love what you've been able to bring out of the West Gash with those models, LA. It looks natural, and absolutely gorgeous. The geological consistency is also great. You really get the idea that this is old volcanic red rock - or at least it does to me. Can't wait to see it in-game!
Awesome, thanks for the great
Awesome, thanks for the great comment - I can't wait to finish it :P
You've done an excellent job.

Modified the grass, it suits
Modified the grass, it suits the area a lot better. Also, massive texture update - no more blinding sand and things are blended better now.

Absolutely love the texture update, LA! You can really see the erosion taking place in that shot where the sand is more pale.

Thanks man! The time of day
Thanks man! The time of day definitely makes it look better haha... But I reckon we just need some North West Gash weathers.

I'm now doing the whole West Gash. here's a new plugin and assets in one, wg_kurasakirock09 crashes the game so delete it if you actually want to test out this. This post is basically a reference as to what I've done so far.

You've really got an eye for
You've really got an eye for how the West Gash should look, LA. Your rock placement is immaculate and it's so good that I easily forget how some of it wasn't in the vanilla game to begin with. It honestly looks so stunning that adding detail will be rather superficial after the job you've done. Great work, LA! Props well-deserved :)
:DDDDD
:DDDDD
I love seeing landscape!! Especially West Gash!
Thanks Taj - means a lot :)
Thanks Taj - means a lot :) Here's another screen. Same place, wider FOV..jpg)
Sorry for the shadow striping, lol.
Skywind is going to be so
Skywind is going to be so awesome. I'm so glad you guys are revamping areas up to Skyrim's standards(and a bit better tbh) instead of just porting. Great work.
Those rock formations have
Those rock formations have very realistic LOD models and textures, I really like the result.
Well when you mix great
Well when you mix great people's work like Kurasaki and Eloth (and whoever else worked on it) then you get really nice stuff :)
Hey LA, upload the plugin
Hey LA, upload the plugin when you get a chance and Squally can do a review to give feedback :) Remember to make paths on hills if a player had access, and also gives shape rocky areas, rather than just a wall of mountains.
I've already uploaded the
I've already uploaded the latest one. Good idea - making a mountain path to go from North West Gash into the Ashlands would be cool. I'm also working on adding random encounters and things like that but at the moment it's all aesthetic with a few new paths to follow. The only problem with adding a new pass is that I'd have to modify the heightmap/landmass and therefor the ground LOD would show up in game... I guess we're going to regenerate it anyway?
Ugh this looks TOO AWESOME.
Ugh this looks TOO AWESOME. Aaaaand Im back to work! Inspiration strikes :D
I've review it a bit, but I
I've review it a bit, but I kept getting the crashes from the rock. I ran into the same problems with my area in the Ashlands to. As for the path going to Ashlands, I'm working on the valley between the two right now, and there is already one near by, so don't edit the mountains and things too much yet. Just keep doing what you're doing! Try to change things up too. Looking forward to seeing it with vegetation, smaller rocks, and ground textures done!

Awesome, yeah... The crash is a reeaalllyyy weird bug - I started a new game in Morrowind and walked there and i didn't get a single crash. As soon as I did cow wrldmorrowind -18 34 with my Skyrim character, it crashed like crazy. I deleted collision, any ideas?

Amazing stuff, man! Looks outstanding.
Also, I think it's extremely important, to create an unique weather patterns for each region. In my opinion, it's one of the main components of recreating Morrowind atmosphere.
Yes, I've talked about image
Yes, I've talked about image spaces and weather probability before, but no one wants to help - I'll probably end up doing it myself, but that doesn't bother me because it's way down the line.

Open testing for the latest version - please download and install, go to cow wrldmorrowind -18 34 and walk around for a bit. I need information from people who have heavily modded games and also people with near-vanilla games. Thanks! Please report and bugs and/or crashes. (Hopefully remote file upload works).

hey LA, I havent been on much
hey LA, I havent been on much but saw your video and read you needed people to test it and give feedback. My skyrim is modded to hell with over 200 mods +lighting and enb. Im impressed with how stable the area is and I only experienced 1 ctd but that was probably from Skyrim and not the west gash specifically. the rock formations look great and fit very well and i LOVE the ginormous pilars/rock formations that you put in there! the arent too much in any way and they are exactly the right amount( by that I mean that they dont show up too often so when you do see one you jizz your pants) cant w8 till you get further into the gash and I love to see what you do to the surrounding mountains. hopefully this is sufficient feedback :p sry for typos and shortnes but Im on my phone :D
Awesome, thanks so much for
Awesome, thanks so much for testing!
I'm making the ground
I'm making the ground textures better now - I've blended the tundra texture with a red-sand texture all over and increased the opacity around rocks as if they're eroding. I hope you guys like that!
Here's a wide shot of
Here's a wide shot of everything I've done. It looks a bit blue because of the fog but hopefully I'll have weather soon and the fog will be about 50% further back, and a warmer colour.

Wow, great work. With the
Wow, great work. With the warmer color it will look awesome :)!
Just one thing: Though I like this "spear" kinda rock on the left of the picture, I'm not sure if it fits in. Actually these formations have been washed away by water for thousands of years, which is why they have horizontal cracks. Is it just the perspective or are the big cracks on the left a bit tilted upwards? Sorry, my English lacks here >.<
By "spear" do you mean arnold
By "spear" do you mean arnold's hand model? It's cool but very specific, so i think it should be SUPER rare. Other than this i love LA's work :)
Thanks guys! Well for the
Thanks guys! Well for the texture, it basically just molds around the mesh and since I had to rotate the mesh vertically, it didn't stay straight. That particular one looks really cool in that spot in-game because there's a camp underneath it and I thought it would have made ideal shelter :)

Looks great man! I really
