Sound Designer/Musician/Foley Artist

Submitted by Ikthus on

Hi everyone. I just found this project and was interested in helping out; I've always enjoyed the TES games, and this is like being a part of one of them for me. I won't be graduating until May, but I've already worked on a number of student films and games. Most recently, I was the audio lead for one of the games that won last year's E3 College Game Competition, Lost in Thought. I also have extensive musical experience composing and performing, and some experience working with foley as well.

I noticed there's already a few people working on this, but I'd be glad to help out on whatever sounds you need, or if you just need another hand on something.

Hi Ikthus,

It's nice to see you're interested in contributing to the project. We didn't anticipate to get such an insanely positive response from the community so we've just created a few threads in different departments to coordinate the work that needs to be done. Since you're interested in helping with music I suggest you take a look at this thread here; http://morroblivion.com/forums/skyrim/skywind-development-forums/music-and-sound/7125. Dragomir and I are the people you want to refer to. As stijmunkey said above we also need a lot (and I mean a LOT) of help with the SFX as well. There is a crazy ton of ground to cover with creatures, ambience, weather, magic even UI. I will be writing up a thread for it soon.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Tajnarasha,

I'd be glad to help with the SFX, I'll jump in as soon as the thread is up. Is there a place now where sounds are listed so I can start work on some things?

Hey Ikthus, here's the thread; http://morroblivion.com/forums/skyrim/skywind-development-forums/music-and-sound/6512

I've listed the areas where we need sound rather than specific sound-files lest I give myself an aneurysm :P

Since SFX encompasses such a broad spectrum of things, we'll keep the submission process open for now. Basically, you think a sound would be appropriate somewhere - put it on! The list will narrow down eventually until we need more specific entries. Hope this helps out a little bit - there is a lot of material to cover!

Sounds good, I've got some studio time this weekend, I'll see what I can put together.
