Hey guys, It's Squally! I'm the unofficial leader for landscaping here. If anyone has any experience with the creation kit, post here. There is still a lot of work to be done, so check out the other forums and coordinate with me what needs to be worked on still. For the most part, pick an area that's not being worked on and make a new thread, show off some of your work, and we'll get back to you about it. Happychappy is good at handing out assets and other meshes, and Eloth and Kurasaki have been making new models, so also talk to them about it. Thanks!
Yo Squally, I spoke with
Yo Squally, I spoke with HappyChappy yesterday about helping you guys with level/dungeon design and he brought me onboard. I’m a student game designer and I have some experience with CK and I told Happychappy that I’d be happy to help. I downloaded Skywind and took a look around to see the style of what you guys are going for. I just have a few questions about setting up Skywind in CK:
· I downloaded the stripped version of Skyrim.esm, is this the version we are supposed to work on?
· Also, I opened the “WrldMorrowind” file and want to make sure that this is the main file we will be working on?
· My object window in CK still shows all of the Skyrim assests, are we using any of those for Skywind, or is there a separate assests/mats pack I will need inoder to add “Morrowind” items to the world?
· Also, is there a specific area of the map that you would like me to work on, or dungeons/caves?
Thanks!
Hey there Grizzik, glad to
Hey there Grizzik, glad to have you on board. You're the first landscaper/level designer to contact me since the new wave of volunteers, so welcome! Here are some answers to your questions
- The stripped version is what you need to use, yes. The normal skyrim.esm is too large with Skywind with it. There is an automatic converter you can download in the download side tab
- "WrldMorrowind" is indeed what we are using to landscape, so have a look around at the world so far.
- We are using Skyrim assets, however, we have renamed them based off of region. For example 0ma = Skyrim Molag Amur assets to use in that region. There is also some listed as 01ma for example too. Just filter the search with that depending on the region you are using. If you use a new Skyrim asset, it MUST be duplicated, renamed, and retextured using the same format.
- As it stands, there is a lot of regions to do still. If you want to do interiors and dungeons, look for that thread. If you want to landscape, check the updated grid claim map here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiQVbq7PZPW5dHpmSmxnU3RrZ2hIRlpsRDlhY1lUQXc&usp=drive_web#gid=0. This is not completely accurate though, and most regions still need lots of work. The regions that haven't been touched or need lots of improving are Azuras Coast, Sheogorad, and the Grazelands. People have already started most of these, so check the threads and coordinate with them what areas you can work on.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do!
