No meshes or textures

Submitted by dunmer way on
I have been playing both Oblivion and Morrowind for a long time. only recently did I get a copy of both for PC, and try running Morroblivion. I'm fairly new to modding, so please bear with me. After downloading all of the files as the readme instructed, and installing them in the same process, I started Oblivion and went to the alleged ship in anvil to find several large yellow "WTF Missing Mesh" logos. I figured this would be a minor inconvenience, and spoke to the person who transports to morrowind (who was swimming in the water where the boat should have been) Upon arriving in Morrowind, I found nothing more than hundreds of yellow logos, water that was partially purple and blue, several people swimming in it, and a land bank in front of me. the land, which clearly should have been Ebonheart, was only land textures covered in purple, with the yellow logos all around them. How can I fix this? I installed all of the files as instructed, and have both morrowind GOTY and Oblivion with shivering isles.

I tried reinstalling morrowind, as someone else on this forum had done, to no avail. the same problem still remains.

Just found out my Shivering Isles was not patched to work. I'll fix it now and see if it'll run properly.

that fix was unsuccessful. I've reinstalled both morrowind and oblivion at this point, and had both patched.

Do you have OBSE and OBMM also the load order may be wrong it needs to be Oblivion.esm and Morrwoind.esm straight after that

I've figured out what the problem is, but I don't know how to fix it. Shivering Isles appears in my data files, and is checked, and patched, but when the game is loaded, nothing involving the expansion can be done, making me think the files aren't being loaded- hence causing the problem. how can this be fixed?

also, I am using both OBSE and OBMM, and have the morrowind file running directly after the oblivion file.

My first guess is that you are running into Windows 7 User Access Control. If you are using Windows 7 or Vista and installed Oblivion to it's default location, then you need to reinstall to a neutral location such as c:\games\Oblivion. The "swimming" is because you do not have Morrowind_ob.esm set to load Immediately after Oblivion.esm. That is why I put the following in the instructions for Step 11: Morrowind_ob.esm MUST MUST MUST load immediately after Oblivion.esm There is a significant bug in the Oblivion Game Engine. If Morrowind_ob.esm does not load right after Oblivion.esm you will NOT be happy with the results.

I was very careful to set the morrowind priority directly after oblivion. still, I'm about to do a clean install of oblivion, so I'll put it on a different directory. thanks for now

thanks for the help! finally got shivering isles to respond, at least. I'll try at getting morroblivion to work right now.

Okay I am having the Same Problem this guy did... Can someone explain to me how to set Morrowind to load up imediately after Oblivion?

I believe you simply change the load order so that morrowind comes immediately after oblivion. I use Oblivion Mod Manager. You can find it by doing a search, I got it from the elder scrolls nexus.

All this is covered in the FAQ: http://morroblivion.com/faq#installation

» How do I install Morroblivion?
Visit the download page on this site for the most current information, and view the instructions included in the mod's README files. If you are having trouble installing it, re-read the README files, use the site's search function to see if there is any information on the problem, and ask in the forum and people will help you. If you are completely unfamiliar with installing Oblivion mods, read the Oblivion Mods FAQ. If you want to install all your mods with Wrye Bash, see below for a quick guide.

You should be using one of the following to manage your load order:
» Wrye Bash (highly recommended) | Bash Pictorial Guide | Bash Help
» Better Oblivion Sorting Software (very useful for sorting your mod list automatically)
» Oblivion Mod Manager (not required, but a good alternative to Bash for installing mods)

Okay.. I've Reread the Instructions.. Double Checked to make sure everything is in the right place.. Downloaded and Installed the Oblivion mod Manger as it was more user friendly and Moved the Oblivion.esm up to the top to make it the first load priority..

I go back to both Docks in Anvil and Cyridill and still I see the "WTF My mesh is missing" messages were the "Transport Ship" Should be.. along with the NPC in the water.

None of this is working, I have the Game of the year Addition which should already be patched... I installed all the the needed files and the Complete Installation files as specified! Still I am unable to go to Morrowind, Ebonhart crashes the game.. and if I try the other route the character is falling repetitively! So my assumption here is the Transport ship Mesh is Missing! or required files from the complete Installation are not there. Other than that I don't know what to do.. it's just become a failure and a headache... And before anyone goes flying off the handle with the " You didn't read the instructions" I did and much to my surprise They are vague at best and not very clear for Amatuer Modders.
