Morroblivion installation help

Submitted by ChrischinLoois on

Hello all,

So I've been pulling my hair trying to figure this out.

I have that issue where you fall through the floor at the beginning and there are a bunch of yellow mesh-missing blocks.

I understand that it's an order issue and I have already done that: My order is

Oblivion .esm

Morrowind.esm

and then morrowind.esb

I THINK OBSE is running but I have been confused on the installation of that as well, but I have followed all the steps exactly how it is done in all the other forums and I can't seem to get it to work. Would appreciate any ideas on a fix

Post a picture of your load order. You shouldn't be using the Morrowind.esm from the original game.

I also will add that it doesn't go straight to that screen. I do start out in that Oblivion cave to create my character then choose to go to Morrowind or Cyrodill.

In order to choose where to start move Chargen and Transport Mod to the end of load order.

Do you have Morrowind_ob - Meshes, Morrowind_ob - Textures and Morrowind_ob - Sound BSA files in "Oblivion\Data"?

Oh no I already can choose where to start, that's what I was trying to say. And yes they are in my data folder

I'm doing something wrong somewhere I know because I first tried to do Skywind and it won't work at all. I'm not that great at modding (I just became a PC user) but I still am following step by step in every video tutorial or forum I read, and nothing seems to work when it comes to these Morrowind conversions.

Hopefully I can find what I'm doing wrong on here

Here is my data folder, I have moved nothing out of any of them, that is what came with the download

Oh no I already can choose where to start, that's what I was trying to say. And weird thing is is that I did have all the meshes, etc. in the data folder and it didn't give me the option to choose where to go (and still having the yellow meshes). But once I moved them out into the directory instead (outside the data folder) it gave me that option.

You shouldn't have loose meshes at all - only bsa archives. Option to choose where to start is controlled only by Chargen and Transport Mod and nothing else.

I'm doing something wrong somewhere I know because I first tried to do Skywind and it won't work at all.

Um, wait... Skywind and Morroblivion are completely independant from each other and run on different engines. You shoudn't mix them in any way.

Anyway, can you post a screenshot of what's in your Oblivion\Data folder?

EDIT: Ok, I see now. You should not have folders starting with numbers (00 Core, etc.) in your Data folder. Remove them and put their content in Data.

No I know I'm not mixing them. I have both Skyrim and Oblivion, I tried installing Skywind and it wasn't working so then I went with Morroblivion because I figured it would be simpler.

But okay I will try removing the folders.

I have multiple "texture" folders. Like one in the grass one and one in the maps, etc.

Does the folder "textures" in these need to be there or can I just grab and drop the contents of those straight into data?

Okay I took all the files out of those folders and put them straight into the data folder. Still same problem..

Okay nevermind I did it wrong. That worked! Thank you! The Oblivion music is still playing though..the file came with Morrowind music..is there a way to change that as well?
