Ok, yay! Finally! Hi peoples!
So some of you have seen some of my progress in other thread a while ago - and then i decided not to show my work "in public" until i have something actually finished. So i was creating dwemer weapons the whole time - the goal was to create a good model that would also correspond to Ravanna's amazing work on dwemer architecture. Thanks to the file he sent me (and huge help when i was struggling to learn how to do all that 3d wizard things) i am able to do it. And i plan to finish the other models very soon.
POST EDITED:
Okay so what do we have here...

The models you see are 95% or 100% done. Some of them needs seams remove which should be really quick job. Maybe a bit of tweaking the textures UV wise or changing the color or levels of the textures.
And if anyone still reads this - theres another plot twist. I'll probably work on the Dwemer crossbow, shield and armour set too. When this is done, and when i learn enough to create armour so yeah, wish me luck ;)
I also welcome all sugestions and hope for some feedback :)

really excited to see these, its turned out really well, all that hard work paid off, tommy!
I had an awesome teacher, that's the reason ;)
I shall also add that specular map looks a lot better out of sketchfab. Sketchfab - which also doesn't allow me to upload another file (might be i have claymore done). I'll try post something new when i get home. Cheers!
Dwemer Claymore has its initial texture done:
It has 1.7k tris. Here's the link to sketchfab:

these looks awesome tommy :)
Cool, they look like rusty pieces of shit. Which is perfect for a weapon that has been laying around a ruin for a zillion years!
Thanks gentlemen!
Well i was wondering if we should add "clean"/"new" textures of dwemer weapons later - you know for forging purpose (you don't forged something that looks thousands years old, eh?) but i guess this is the subject for later.
Anyway - that would be spear:
1.4k tris

May need some tinkering as always. Peace!
Sure, much later on you could make some clean textures for forged dwemer weapons, but concentrate on this lot first.
Make them real shiny.
Theese will be more shiny then it looks on sketchfab - i'll try to post some pics from the 3ds max to show what's the deal.
i work with metals 5 days a week for 10 years, and i still havent seen any shining rust :P unless its wet ofcouse ;)
Oh, I meant make the newly forged ones shiny
Don't worry - that's what the specular is for - the "rusty" part won't shine at all.
These look great. I like how they have more of an ancient feel as a pose to the dwemer weapons in Oblivion and Skyrim.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!
Cant take my eyes off of them!
Thanks, I'm really glad you like it guys :) I'm leaving for a while - will be back just before new years eve and I'll try to work on other models while I'm gone. In the meantime please don't hesitate to leave the feedback here. Constructive criticism is something i can handle so if you have any idea how to improve the textures or even the models - feel free to write them here - the more, the better :) Also - Merry christmas, people!
Ok finally an update for the post. So i kind of bump it up.

Looks good. they do fit Dwarven style weapons. :)
Congratulations! Looks amazing (battle axe is my fav)! :D
I know that it originally looked like this in Morrowind, but the grip of the sword always seemed to be incredibly hurtful to use, I had the feeling that it could cause blister the size of a grapefruit in matter of seconds. Otherwise everything is absolutely great, but this one thing always bothered me.
They really look amazing mate and I like the rusty textures allot! it always felt kinda odd that you could find ancient armors and weaps in Skyrim without as much as a scratch on it (expect for the shield.. that thing was a giant blur)
Okay, Claymore is done.

I would say we move on to the next stage with dwemer weapons. The textures WILL be tweaked but basically it doesn't get much better than this.
Now i'll probably try working on dwemer crossbow, or the shield. Cheers!
maby a bit out of your area but u gone make the dwemmer armor to ?
Thats the plan :)

nice
would that be the origenal morrowind dwemmer armor the are made out of pieces of dwemer stuf and the consept armor of dragomir ore 1 of those ?
Well ideally we want both armours ingame - one would be sort of dwemer scavenger armour and the other one would probably be SUPER rare - an actual dwemer armor based on Dragomir's concept.
what i am wondering whit the dwemmer scavenger armor is the dwemmer robots of morrowind are the gone be the skyrim 1 maby whit a retuxturing to get a more morrowind feel ore a remake? because it would look best if the got al the same look and feel to it
Thats the main point of discussion when it comes to dwemer models. Ofcourse the best way would be creating brand new super awesome looking spheres and centurions so they look more like morrowind ones. But ofcourse we dont really have people and time for that. And skyrim ones are really neat anyway.
Probably we will retexture existing models and create this armour based on bethesda's models too.
Aw yeah tommy! Super slick looking. I'm loving these
Well done tommy, I love the way you textured the rust and your meshes are top notch.
Loving the models. The colors seem a bit off though, a lot more orange than either Morrowind or Skyrim. Is that the intent, or are the final textures going to be goldish in color?
Damn, those look awesome, had no idea so many were done! Keep up the great work!

I like this idea, one with shinny edges which occurs when you sharpen them (Via a grindwheel), and one that's entirely shinny and non-rusty for when you forge them, or occasionally when you buy them in a shop. Wouldn't be that hard to implement I'd imagine, just add the smoothed one to shops lists and change what you forge.
@Jorgen - the textures will probably be tweaked a bit when it comes to colours - see the first post where i wrote "Maybe a bit of tweaking the textures UV wise or changing the color or levels of the textures." So yeah i wouldn't worry about it. I myself like how the models look but don't worry, if we all decide theese need to be change a bit, I don't see the problem.
@LASentry - thanks, man :) I'm taking a break for a bit in order to learn more about 3d modelling, there is so much to learn. Hopefully, I'll get back to dwemer stuff really soon and provide more and better models.
@Digmaster - Specular maps will give a nice shiny look to the blades - the idea is to make the blade parts more shiny. I was also thinking about retexturing every single uv for the smithing purpouses. That way you have the rusty one to collect from dwemer ruins and the newly forged ones when you make it yourself. But that is something we will get back to later.
Also - the shield mesh is done, I'm working on the bakes and textures - the devs think it needs more love and i definately agree with them. If you are curious, here is the link:
https://sketchfab.com/show/a4844538872d475586a88eee80a11052
please remember this is nothing close to the final texture. It will have more detail, rust and wont be so flat when it's done.
Amazing shield!!
I went ahead and creeped your sketchfab, and I gotta say I love what you have up there. I especially like the hollow part in the head of the warhammer. You can't see it in the screenshot.
Do you use 3ds max? I would toy with adding a bend parametric deformer on the the shield from top to bottom. Not a lot, though. A little bit will give it curve in both directions.
As for the textures, I would suggest adding a change in values for a few parts of each model to help the detail stand out. You could simply duplicate the layer on your diffuse, drop saturation and increase brightness, then erase the parts you want to keep the original color. Very similar to what you did with the blades, in fact.
Those are all just friendly suggestions, so you can feel free to ignore them. One last thing, the UV may have shifted on your war axe and a few seams are showing.
Ok - i didn't post anything for a while, but i still work on my models as often as i can. So hey, here you go - one of two dwemer shields (the second one will be made on the base of CG's concept art). I'll probably fix textures a bit, so the symbols will be higher resolution. Also be sure to check out 3d view on sketchfab. It's a bit dark for some reason, but you can see some interesting details that don't show up so good on this pic.
https://skfb.ly/yXps
it looks great! loving all the small details
looks very good a good mix of old and new dwemmer style
also nowe we got a shield i really wane see the rest of the armor u probely gone make
The shield looks good so far! The only thing I'd would suggest is adding a few more patterns to it and enlarging the design in the center so that it touches the sides of the circle it's in, like on these:
excellent quality! :D
Now were you a good boy and remember to imprint colour on the runes in case we want them to glow ;) ?
That's one damn fine looking shield you got there Tommy.
Thank you guys,
Saivryn - i'll see about that, maybe we can tweak the design a little bit.
Ravanna - don't you worry, you'll get your alpha. Actually i think there's even option to show it off on sketchfab. When i get final texture, i'll try uploading it too :)
Ok quick update - the shield with tweaked texture + emmision alpha. The "glowing" blue-ish symbols are probably going to look a bit better ingame - here you can just see what part of the texture is going to glow (i used emmision in sketchfab - this is not the same effect as we are going to use in game - i think)
https://skfb.ly/z9E6 - link to sketchfab if you want to check out the goods in three dimensions.
As always - comments and feedback appreciated. I think this is.. well.. completed model. Saivryn's suggestion will be taken into consideration in the other dwemer shield that we gonna create - you will see soon :)
beautiful work :)
wouldn't that be an idea for all weapons/armor, when it is enchanted any runes/letters present will glow (maybe in a color specific to that enchantment)
Anyway, I absolutely love it. keep up the amazing work.
wow, these are some high quality 3d weapons dude :)
Damn the shield turned out amazing! I am looking forward to the ornate one :3
