Hey guys, so I began working at the start of the week on Dunmer Settler Furniture, and it's what I'll be continuing work on, so just to show what I'm going for and what I've done so far, here's just a simple chair, in both high poly and low poly. I'll be beginning on the second piece of furniture today.
If you guys have any feedback, that'd be great. The style I was going for in the chair was a natural tree look, like elements of the tree it was built from still exist but also being worn and old looking and carved in the areas that count, such as the frame for the seat.
Enjoy :D

to create wood, use pen A brush, in Zsub mode, with focal point to 90.
this creates the directions of the wood
For worn edges, use TrimDynamic with a square alpha.
Also: sculpt in Matcap White Cavity or Standard. Matcap Red wax is confusing
If you are creating many assets, perhaps u could make them all in one scene in zbrush, then bake them all at once later? this is the fastest way to do it :)
let us know how u get on
Thanks for the tips Rav, I'll use that on the table I'm working on atm.
Hopefully it'll come out better.
Jesus, can't believe I took this long, but rest assured, another is on the way within the next couple of days. Most likely Wednesday, but I took upon Rav's advice (Cheers rav) and it worked out alot better. Low poly count is double of the original morrowind at 489 tris.
Hope this is okay
I'm learning alot here guys, so many thanks for any feedback.
this looks good, looking forward to see it textured :) ravanna may have a texture for that, he wanted as many models as possible to share textures.
I'll probably be able to fit 6-7 on one sheet. Ill bake it when Ive got around that number also.
Cheers eloth
Sorry for the late delivery on this one, hopefully this doesn't look too messy in the low poly wireframes, if so I can go back and fix it, but it was tricky to get into the 480 tris count but I found a way around that.
Anyway this is the small Dunmer table, fresh batch of models coming up soon, which means when they're finished, the baking shall begin!
i like this recent one the most, really knarled shaped wood. :)
Awesome! Great to know Rav, I'll know what to go for then down the line :D
Just a quick update fellas, more to come soon, just the other dunmer stool with straight legs.
Enjoy :)
Hey man, Eloth put to me to work on some of the lower class dunmer furniture models, which of the de_p models haven't you started yet?
