Thrillhouse's Suggestions

Submitted by Thrillhouse on

Hey, just a few suggestions for Skywind that I would love to see implemented into the mod. Feel free to post suggestions if you have them, I will be adding more if I come up with some.

1. Beast Race Legs - The idea is to design the beast race models to have similar legs to those in the original Morrowind, e.g: http://images.uesp.net//3/30/MW-npc-Ahzini.jpg
There is a mod for Skyrim that does this for Argonians (to an extent) and can be found here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19283/?tab=4&&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D19283%26page%3D2%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D709796&pUp=1

2. Real-Time Silt Striders and boats - When you hire a Silt Strider or a boat for travel, you should be able to choose whether you want to skip to the location or travel there in real time. There is a mod for Morrowind that allows you to control the Silt Strider, but I am only suggesting a cutscene showing the journey from point A to point B. A Video of the mod can be fond here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRUadDc1onc

3. Character uses hand to shield their eyes from dust storm - This was a small but immersive feature in the original Morrowind that just made the game for me. I would love to see my character in Skywind do this when they get caught in a storm, unless of course they are wearing a hemlet or mask ;)

1beast race legs would maen u have to make diferent boots and stuf to fit on those legs so beter do that when done whit the normal boots seen this suggestion before

2 the silt strider walking could probely be somthing because the are ore gone be rigt to a skeleton the silt striders but the boat would be more anoying so that wil probely not happen any time soon

3 also somthing but thats a littel thingie thats beter saved till te end

BUT if u really want to see this happen u should make it your self than u get support for it only suggestion stuf dont get u nowe where and many got suggestions but unless u are the boss paying for it what is impossible because it al done free u get no where whit it

just saying because i seen topics like this pop up before and it more anoying than useful

Well well well! Well... Well.

The Beast Race Legs subject was already discussed  more than once i think. It is important since it would be actually bringing something from actual Morrowind back - but i think its not that easy. Not certain where the discussion has ended but i'm pretty sure most of the devs would gladly merge such a thing to Skywind - as long as we have someone who finishes the mod and makes sure it will go along with Skywind :p We would also need some new models for armours that are beeing created which may not be that easy.

Second point is actually an idea for a mod - nothing more. A good, immersive idea but i'm not sure if theres is a point discussing it now - good thing though - is that we gonna have animated silt strider as far as i know - to that makes it way easier to implement something like this - i guess.

The third one is actually an amazing idea - not sure if its easy or hard to make. I would go with "doable" as long as we can find some animation that would be similar to that gesture. But hey I don't really know much in this area. I can only tell you that you are absolutely right with this one - this small feature WAS something special and i would love to see it in Skywind :)

I'm sorry but what an earth are you on about? Jarls are only in Skyrim, not Morrowind so that's a no.

The other two points I'm not even sure what you're trying to say, but yes glass armour is in Skywind, but it doesn't get destroyed by the first strike.

We need a suggestions page so these things don't clutter the feed.

Lay off him, guys. I'm pretty sure he has only played Skyrim and is just curious about the project. That said, I'll answer his questions:

1. I highly doubt it. There is no need to make a new skill for riding. I, however have no say, as that is just conjecture.

2. No. The province of Morrowind has a very different political system from that of Skyrim. There are no Holds or Jarls. There is a king on the mainland, but he is just a figurehead for the most part. The real power comes from the Great Houses and the Tribunal Temple. The Great Houses are kind of like a combination of a fiefdom (for want of a better term) and a political party/corporation, each with its own unique culture, rules, and dealings. The Temple is the primary religion of the Dunmer and is a force to be reckoned with politically, kind of like the medieval catholic church. In Morrowind (and Skywind) you can join these factions and rise in the ranks, eventually reaching the level of councilor or Archcanon.

3. Yes, there will be glass armor, but no it's not the kind of glass you make a cup or a window out of. Glass refers to a kind of hard, strong, lightweight volcanic glass (so, a stone) which, in the hands of a skilled craftsman, is fastend onto a light, flexible armor to create a strong, lightweight armor kind of like mithril (except that mithril doesn't exist in the Elder Scrolls universe).

You can get mithril in Oblivion. Its a quite high level light armour.
