Vality's mods

Submitted by Kampher on
So I know this subject has been touched on before a few months ago, but with the converter being discouraged now, is this still possible? I'd really like to add in all of Vality's tree mods to the game, but I've had nothing but trouble with trying to get the converter to bring everything over on top of the new mod.

Bumping my own thread: After hours of tinkering, I got a lot of mods to convert over successfully using my own modded morrowind install. The problem is that the new Morrowind_ob.esm obviously overwrites the changes that my own converted morrowind_ob.esm makes, so it's impossible to enjoy the new quest lines, fixes, and awesomeness of the new project with any of the great morrowind mods that could be successfully converted over. At least the textures and meshes don't require any esm file, so I was able to successfully bring over all my really great hi-resolution textures that I have in my morrowind game over. Perhaps I'll start tinkering with the Construction Set and work on porting over Vality's awesome upgrades for it's own .esp which can work along-side the morroblivion project.

This may be a workable proposition, or it may be horribly complicated, depending on what the Morrowind mods did. If the Morrowind mod replaced existing trees but kept the same ID, then the mod would still be a lot of work, but certainly doable. If the Morrowind mod changed ID's by adding and/or deleting things, then this will be a remarkably complicated task. But, before going any further, do you have permission to use his mods?

Well I was thinking of maybe just doing it for personal use but I don't see why I couldn't PM or email Vality and ask if it would be ok to port his mods over to Oblivion. It's dramatic how much the extra trees make morrowind look better.

If you get permission and send me the Master, I will take a look at it to see what would be involved in integrating it into the Project Master.

Well, I can't seem to find an email for him and his Website is down. I did, however, shoot him a PM on the Bethesda forums so hopefully he will give us the A-ok.
