House Redoran Bug | Morroblivion

I believe I am stuck. I'm doing the Ash Statue quest. After speaking to the priest and handing over the ash statue, he asks me to speak with the Dark Elf whom he thinks is being possessed by the statue. After I return and speak to him, he say's he'll go speak to the priest right away, yet the quest never advances. I keep talking to him, and he assures me that he will speak to the priest, but nothing happens. Any ideas?

Not a Bug

There is no bug; that's the way the quest works. The quest updates as soon as you talk to Varvur Sarethi. The quest marker then points to Athyn Sarethi to finish the Quest.

The marker never leaves from Varvur Sarethi. If I speak to his father, Athyn, he only asks me if I've cleared his sons name yet.

Definitely a Bug

OK, sorry, Varvur's greeting exists twice, and of course the version that updates the quest is not the version that Varvur is actually saying. This has been fixed for the next release, thank you. Until then, you'll need to use the console ~ SetStage fbmwHRClearSarethi 95 Also, I had forgotten that talking to Athyn doesn't complete the Quest; you then need to speak to the pirest again to finish.
