ok, i installed morroblivion, but i somehow messed something up, everything works great except that there is no armor, i have completely missing torsos where the armor should be resulting in loating heads and arms, al other clothing and body testures seem to work.
what did i do wrong?
ok i do have that, i must
ok i do have that, i must have installed it wrong or something,i'll try reinstalling and see what happens
well i reinstalled the
well i reinstalled the vardenfel imports and vvardenfel addons and tried it out, still no armor and the ashlander in pelgiad had a big yellow marker stuck to his lower body, but other than that it's fantastic!
i'm thinking it may be a conflicting body mod maybe
any suggestions would be helpful
Did you
Did you install the mod per the instructions and in the order the instructions in the ReadMe file specified?
Did you install manually, with OBMM, or with Wrye Bash?
What body mods and armor mods are you using? Have you tried uninstalling them (assuming you are installed them with OBMM or Wrye Bash?)
Also check inside of you
Also check inside of you data folder and look for out of place folders.
Initially, I just extracted everything to my data folder, but there was already a data folder in the extracted content, so the textures and meshes folders didn't go into the correct directories/folders because they were inside their own data folder.
There are some fixes amongst the Vvardenfell Imports in seperate downloads also, make sure those have been applied. Apply them in the correct order too. There is also Vvardenfell Imports add-on, don't forget to get that as well.
Mainly check the data folder to see if the folders went to the correct place.
I found the problem i was a
I found the problem i was a silly goose, i thought i had vvardenfell imports part 1 and 2 but it was just the patch, so i fixed that, and it ran great:D i manually installed everything
but i ran into a new problem, the bonemold cuirass now has a big purple blippy on the back of it, and there is a mesh missing on the shelf in meldor's armory in balmora, any suggestions on that?
maybe i missed a patch or messed up installing it or something, or is it a bug?
Support Files v2
It sounds like you have not installed Support Files 2.
i installed the support
i installed the support files2 manually
what's odd is the game made a fool of me the armor worked in the shop when i tried it on, didn't work at vivec (when i put it on, where the neck peice was was a purple marker)then when i quit out and reentered the game it worked fine.
i still have no idea what happened, and there is still something missing in meldor's shop the big yellow missing mesh marker is on the shelf
other than that i havn't found anything else missing, i love how the boiled nech armor looks!
FormIDFinder
Again, be specific. You have no idea how difficult it is to troubleshoot a project this large.
If you get a copy of FormIDFinder from Nexus, and give me exact Form or EditorID's, then I can try to determine what you have going wrong.
Hi, I found a "WTF I'm a
Hi, I found a "WTF I'm a missing mesh"-mesh at Meldor's in Balmora. It's the Nordic... something, that's on the top left of the shelves. I don't know if this is due to my own fault, but it's missing in my game and I installed everything like in the readme. Anyone knows what it could be?
I've also noticed there's no ghostfence sounds near the fences and that the fence blue-liquid wall goes right through the ghostgate.
Nordic Trollbone Helm
The Nordic Trollbone Helm is from Vvardenfell Imports.
There are many parts to Vvardenfell Imports; it is a complicated installation. You must have missed installing one of its files.
How to fix this.
Anyone having problems with the torsos and some pants not appearing, remember to go into the mirrors tab in TES NEXUS and download part 1 and part 2 there. I almost missed that during installation, as there is also Patch 1 and Patch 2 you need to download in the Files tab. Remember that part 1 and part 2 are both around 250mb, so to get Morroblivion working you need at least 1gb of downloads, if not more.
Thank you Arcaian
I will include more detalied instructions for Vvardenfell Imports in the future.
I will base it on what you have here. I never imagined so many people would have so much trouble with it.
David, I don't mean to sound
David, I don't mean to sound bad, and I expect my post to be deleted again, but everyone knows that installing the morroblivion mod is very difficult at best. Your version of it 'requires' several other mods from different modders including some of the stuf from shivering isles .. and I might be wrong, but some of these mods appear to conflict with each other.
Is there any way to make this thing easier to install? I just looked for "vvardenfel imports" on the nexus and found 5 files. Which does this mod need?
This is a great project and I like it a lot, but I wonder why you need to have the users (me and other gamers) go here, go there, install this, install that when you could just gather up all the nif and texture files from all the 'required mods' and package them up into a single file that would install the stuf where it needs to be. Some folks don't have (or want) Shivering Isles, so I think there needs to be an alternate for the stuf you use from that mod.
If you already have everything installed and working on your PC you might consider making an install package from that. It would really make life easier for all of us.
No disrespect intended ...
Steph, you have hit on a
Steph, you have hit on a huge point of contention with the modding community, in that a lot of modders do not want other people to repackage their mods in new releases. Sometimes this is because the modders are concerned about compatibility and people not being able to upgrade to new versions, and other times the modder just has a big ego and wants to be recognized independently.
In any case, the common practice is to NOT integrate mods together, and instead to specify in a list what mods are required and let the user go get them.
Vvardenfell imports is very messy, I agree, and it would be nice if the author would release a 'final version' that isn't in multiple parts. However, it's not impossible to install. Six files actually:
Go to this link: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28245
Go to "files" tab:
- Download Vvardenfell Imports Part 3
- Download Vvardenfell Imports Patch 1
- Download Vvardenfell Imports Patch 2
Go to "mirrors" tab:
- Download Vvardenfell Imports Part 1
- Download Vvardenfell Imports Part 2
Go to this link: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28246
- Download Vvardenfell Imports Addon includes esp fix
Once you get them all, extract Vvardenfell Imports Part 1, Vvardenfell Imports Part 2, Vvardenfell Imports Part 3 to the same folder (and keep the folder structure correct).
This will be a complete, but unpatched, Vvardenfell Imports.
Next you patch it. Open up Vvardenfell Imports Patch 1, extract its contents to your VI folder, and overwrite the old files. Do the same with Vvardenfell Imports Part 2 and Vvardenfell Imports Addon includes esp fix, MAKING SURE that you copy the files to the right folders so they get replaced. Of course, always read the instructions that come with VI.
Ideally you should be installing all of your mods with Wrye Bash (BAIN) and not just copying files to your Oblivion directory. I have included a good summary of this process here: http://morroblivion.com/faq
You know .. I've put a few
You know .. I've put a few clothing mods on the nexus and got complaints when I didn't specify "for Roberts female only" in the file name, the readme, and in the esp description at least three times in each. It was already there, just not as often as needed, I guess. Even after I did all this, a few folks tried to use my stuf with exnims body and complained about that
But ..
The procedure you describe above is a bit of overkill and ensures that people will continue to have problems because some 'modders' keep releasing 'Beta' versions with different bugs in them and never get around to doing it right.
I think it would be better to replace all the shivering Isles stuf (and vvardenfel imports) with things from the Better Clothes mod or Oblivion itself. I've already done some of that for myself and it works fine.
Well, that is the crux of
Well, that is the crux of the problem. While it is often relatively easy to determine the current state of something - "What is the situation?" - it is much more difficult to agree upon the state that 'should' exist - "What should the situation be?"
For example, it's my opinion that everyone should have Shivering Isles installed, and anyone who doesn't is missing out big time. Video game modding is annoying like that, because anyone interested in modding is there because they want to make the game more personal for them, as opposed to having a more broad appeal.
In any case, if you are installing these things with Wrye Bash / BAIN, you will only have to set up the dependent mods once, and it's not like there's a lot of them anyway. I have seen mods that list ten or even twenty other mods that must be installed first, so consider yourself lucky really.
Mod Requirements
I -HAVE- made Morroblivion much easier to install than it was before.
I have created a Complete Installation and have given installation instructions.
This site used to be filled with people having trouble with the converter. Now, people complain about Vvardenfell Imports.
You are certainly welcome to make a mod that uses Oblivion items instead of Vvardenfell Imports, and to remove the Golden Saints from the game so Shivering Isles is not required.
I do not have permission to repackage or distribute Vvardenfell Imports.
If you have problems with Vvardenfell Imports, then that is your problem, not mine.
Thank You For The Instructions!
Thank you Thermador, for the WONDERFUL instructions on installing Vvardenfell Imports!
These will be included in my Installation Instructions from v020 onward.
I have also included troubleshooting on the two most common issues that cause about 99% of the problems when installing Morroblivion.
Quote:"I do not have
"I do not have permission to repackage or distribute Vvardenfell Imports. If you have problems with Vvardenfell Imports, then that is your problem, not mine."ok, I don't want to come across as a 'bitchy female', but - If Vvardenfell Imports were easy to install instead of requiring several different files that must be obtained from different sites, and then installed in a specific sequence there would be much less 'problem'. No disrespect intended, but since you require Vvardenfell Imports for your mod you actually do inherit some of the Vvardenfell Imports problems. I noticed a few minutes ago at the Nexus that people are still complaining about missing meshes and textures in Vvardenfell Imports. Some of the problems people are complaining about here are not really about your mod, they're complaining about Vvardenfell Imports without realizing it. If I could do it, I would try to get permission from the Vvardenfell Imports modder to use his meshes and textures, include them in this mod and forget the dependency. Of course, we would still need to have Shivering Isles since vvardenfell imports also relies on it ... I like your version of Morroblivion. I just want it to be usable without so many 'glitches' ..
Frankly steph, you mystify
Frankly steph, you mystify me. You display advanced knowledge of modding (mentioning textures and nifs, etc) but you can't be bothered to properly install one mod because it's not handed to you on a silver platter?
Furthermore, you go on to complain about bugs when you aren't following the directions for Morroblivion in the first place. Shivering Isles is required. Start a clean install of Oblivion + SI + all the rest and follow the instructions. If you still have problems, then come and complain about them.
You are welcome to reach out to the owner/maintainer of VI and see if they will give us permission.
Vvardenfell Imports
OK, lets take a step back, and stop arguing about this.
Technically speaking, I did not need permission from themythofanst because I am not using or including anything from his mod, and Morroblivion requies a full downlod of Vvardenfell Imports.
But, I asked him for it anyway out of courtesy.
Themythofanst was very clear in his response, that he was granting permission to point to his mod, but Not to redistribute or repackage. I respect that. My version of Morroblivion exists Because of Vvardenfell Imports. Without it, I would not have started this project.
There are no missing meshes in Vvardenfell Imports. The people on Nexus you are referring to have not installed it properly or completely. When I started this mod, I put every piece of armor from his mod into a container outside the shop, then put everything on Mannequins so I could see it all.
It would have been easier if I had a clue what I was doing, but I think I've done OK despite that.
There are NOT any missing meshes or textures in Vvardenfell Imports if installed properly.
I am Grateful to Vvardenfell Imports, and am not going to pester themythofanst about repackaging. His Netch Leather, Imperial Chainmail, Imperial Steel, and Dwemer armor make attempts to use Oblivion "equivalents" look sick.
I have included Thermador's excellent instructions in my installation guide. I wish that there weren't so many things required for this mod, however, Morrowind is not just your average Oblivion mod.
I am hopeful that you will play the game and give me some feedback on things that ARE within my ability to change...
Let me apologize to everyone
Let me apologize to everyone who has (or will) read my posts. I was not trying to belittle anything or attempt to make things harder than they already are.
