Sunder, by Mooncactus

Submitted by mooncactus on

Hey guys I'm working on finishing a modified version of Sunder right now, one of Kagrenac's tools. This is the low poly in Maya viewport 2.0 with AO and normals. There are a few issues with the maps that I'm going to tweak in photoshop. I'm working on the diffuse and extra normal surface detail at present (to add things like runes and engravings and such), then I'll most likely head to dDo to add wear and scratches. But this is it right now. If anyone has any ideas on what cool things I can do with the diffuse, just shout :)

Dommi

one-hand ? I believe it is a two hand.

It's one handed.

Sechrima, I will change the knot, I promise. I'm still coming up with a dwemer design to replace it with. :) maybe when I've done some Ald 'ruhn stuff I might have a go at wraithguard, if noone has nabbed it by then.

I'm pretty sure they just ran out of time and manpower - keening working as you described probably would need new animation and whatnot.

Hilariously enough, the only way to receive two Wraithguards is by meeting Vivec and going through the main quest and kill him after he gives you the artifact to loot another from his corpse, then ask Yagrum to unlock its powers for you. Would be fun to make a left-handed variant if only to allow people to dual wield the weapons without dying.

I heard that we are using the Skyrim armor system because of technical limitations. I found this pic of some mismatched but compatible steampunk gauntlets and thought that they would be good inspiration in case we have to make wraithguard as a pair.

Mooncactus- I'm sorry for talking about wraithguard in your Sunder thread, I just wanted to share this pic with you. I really like your Sunder model, and I look forward to hitting things with it.

Those are sexy! Some great ref.

No worries at all, wraithguard is 100% relevant to Sunder anyway, it makes sense to talk about it here :) if nobody has claimed wraithguard by the time I'm through with Ald'ruhn, I may try modelling them :P

Could we, in theory, make wraithguard a one-handed gauntlet?  For the other hand you just wear a regular 2 handed and one of the hands gets replaced.

Then again, maybe a pair is better.  Who doesn't want to dual wield sunder and keening, right?

No, someone is going to make it work like Morrowind. Last I heard it was working, theres a thread around.
