Having trouble with IC Advancement quest - it won't advance to new ranks. I think it's a problem with the script for faction reputation, but I'm not working on this quest so not sure. Am using MO v61.

Current rank is initiate, however current stage in fbmwICAdvancement quest is 80 - this is why I think it's bugged.
When I ask about advancement I always get the dialog about needing to work harder, etc.
How did you get to stage 80
How did you get to stage 80 without advancing through previous ranks? What quests for IC have you completed?
Please type the following in console and post the results:

I'm having the same issue, only mine says I'm not high enough in skills and attributes, although my personality is 37 and my willpower is 35 and I have 2 skills at 100 and 2 in the 70's and 1 in the 80's. Also they gave me the septim's ring and my rank is Adept; I'd just finished the skull_chusher quest.

About Septim's ring, you talked to Synnolian Tunifus, right? He had an error in dialogue condition to give you the ring earlier, but this should not affect advancement.

Everything seems to be in order, but the script thinks you don't qualify by skills.
Just to make sure, you need both Personality and Willpower >= 31 and one of the following skills: Conjuration, Restoration, Speechcraft, Mysticism or HandToHand >= 50
Also script executes only once in several seconds so you'll need to wait a bit in gamemode (i.e. not in dialogue or any menu)

I too had problems with the IC Advancement quest. However, I chose to fix my problems by completing the quest via console and the rank via console.
However, my problem was exactly like OP's just for the record.

Skills which are required to progress in faction are listed in the first entry of advancement quest.
