just was wondering if anyone knew if there was a general time frame for when you think the skywind download will be available again, thank you for your time
Check back in a couple of
Or at least a year it always takes a long time before anything gets done because its an old game and the guys doing the mod are just normal guys with some have jobs some may even not but still have school.

icedwinter, he asked when the download was going to be up, not the full project. technically we could put it up now but we will refrain from doing so until 0.9.2 is out, we may even wait until 0.10.0.1 but even that would not be a year.
thank you for understanding
thank you for understanding the question i was disappointed to hear the download was taken down i was really excited to play whatever was completed at the time i just finished my taxes and was going to get a computer with the tax return really soon and the first thing i was going to do was download the skywind mod but i really hope i dont have to wait a whole year to enjoy skywind just my luck that the same time i get a computer they take it down i would be content just to walk around even if there wasnt any quest

Just for the future, try to
Just for the future, try to refrain from making threads about questions as they can (for lack of a better word) spam the forums. We get these questions all the time and it can be easily answered through the public chat, Thanks.[External image]
next version will be 0.10
next version will be 0.10
We don't have ETA yet, because we want to blow your minds.
Also I know it's not exactly the same thing, but you can have a look at morroblivion in the meantime :)
The next version is 0.10?
The next version is 0.10?
Who did that math?
SBB64, here's the thing.
SBB64, here's the thing. Versions of something don't follow standard decimal rules. in this case, 0.10 is bigger than 0.1, and although it may not seem right, plenty of people do it.
Also - naming the next
Also - naming the next release "Skywind v1.0" would make no sense as it is still far from away finished.
That's not the way versions
That's not the way versions work, Zero.

There is no real "way versions work". Devs can call their version whatever they want to call it.
Well maybe, but 1.0 refers to
Well maybe, but 1.0 refers to a release product, as in everything is done and only bugs need to be patched now, like Skyrim 1.0 (when it first came out) - that wouldn't be a logical step for Skywind.
I did the maths, so blame me.
I did the maths, so blame me.
If the rule is not clear:
A.B.C.D where A, B, C, D are not necessarily numbers (or digits) but will probably be, for simplicity.
A = major public release (will be at 1, when we do the first everything-is-working-excepts-for-bugs public release)
B = minor public release (before v 1.0 is out, this will be alpha/beta releases, after large bugfixes set)
C = dev releases (intermediates between public releases)
D = hot patch
latest public release 0.9.0.1 alpha #9 with a hot patch
latest dev release 0.9.1 new dev merged since latest alpha.

No one was considering naming it 1.0 :P we said 0.10
I fully realize that this isn
I fully realize that this isn't ready for a 1.0 release. I had been wondering what the plan was once it hit .9 since there isn't anywhere else to go. As a past life programmer (anyone remember Paradox, Borland C++, and Pascal?), we released code in a version control similar to what Digital is using. I just wasn't expecting to go back in time to version 0.1 for package. It just seems...wrong. But the only other option I can think of is to go Hex and do a .0 and .A, .B, etc. versions of the package.

I don't think you understand yet. The thing with 0.9 and 0.10 is that 0.10 is the next version of development. 10 > 9. It doesn't always work like regular decimals.
Sorry if I came off as harsh or abrupt.
Yes, I do understand. I've
Yes, I do understand. I've been in the IT field for 30 years now. I can't recall any vendor releasing software with this concept. That doesn't mean it can't be done. But we are going to blow minds and don't be surprised with the number of people posting questions about this version numbering. There is nothing wrong with a version .10 but it goes against unofficial standards (are there official numbering standards?). Hell, you can label each version after a hurricane for all I care. But you are going to disturb the comfortable. Be prepared.
The math nerds will just have
The math nerds will just have to deal with it. I think adding a bunch of decimals and numbers now (like 0.9.54.2.51) is just stupid, and worse than 0.10
Yeah, be a rebel ;)
