Hi guys,
I am Fabio, from Florence. It is a pleasure to work on this huge project! I am an architect and (obviously) a fan of videogames, plus a 3dsmax user. So I ask happychappy to work on some architectures, and here below you can find my first work (one vivec house). I know almost anything about 3d models for games purposes, so, if you think there is something really wrong please let me know. Obviuosly CC are welcome. Texture is one tiff 4096*4096 and I think someone should work on it. :)
Bye and thank you.

The model looks really good, glad to see you on board. Textures obviously need some work but good job!
For which plaza will this kinda models be? Can't remember straw roofs ;)
Yes Endstufe, there wasn't a straw roof, do you think it is better a regular one?
Looks great to me keo1982, nice job buddy.
Ok, so we are running with the theme of an open topped Vivec City, as first concepted by Bethesda
The idea is to make Vivec more lived in, markets with stalls. A little more "common", dirty and busy.
There are 16 different houses in all, the one you have done is the only rounded roof design, the rest have flat roofs.
Mud would be better I suppose. Or loam, I'm lacking words there in English.
Have a look at vivec, it's all made of loam or sandstone or whatever material that is. I'd be confused entering a Plaza and find straw roofs. Especially because Vivec is a pretty rich place overall and straw roofs would fit better to the poor inland. I do also think that straw just fits the Nord, take Seyda Neen as an example. I can't remember Nord/Imperial buildings in Vivec, but I may be wrong, correct me then please :)
Edit: Didn't see happys post. If that's the case, I'm in with straw, though I think they should be limited and may belong to Imperials or Nord. Plus then the straw needs to be very worn and less saturated due to weather impact.
I'd still go against straw. Vivec is an ancient city, by this point what stands there has stood for thousands of years. Every permanent structure would be built to last. I would like to see lots of temporary structures though seem more ramshackled in appearance. Especially the foreign quarter, which should just be a mass of people and shacks! Look at images from Kowloon Walled City for some inspiration on how to do the roof of the foreign quarter canton!
It might be a good idea to make many more shacks and buildings than are currently needed to support the NPCs in cities like this so it will be easy to add new NPCs later to flesh out the world after the initial mod is released.
Well, it doesn't matter too much there are literally only 2 references to the above house, but we should think on the wooden parts on the roof for possibly more of them.
But if you look at the concept you'll see that there is a mix and match. If its been standing for thousands of years and it got wear and tear then lower class are going to replace things with their own materials
End is correct that the Velothi architecture style is made from packed mud/clay. I can find the source of you don't trust me.
Very petty model, though!
I don't think thatch fits the roof of a Vivec building either. Maybe as a cottage built outside of the cantons, but within the city some kind of tiling, with a smooth curve (like temple rooves) would be a bit more fitting.
This is an awesome model though! Really looking forward to see more :D
That looks awesome - I can't wait to see the new Vivec fully modeled!
Hmmm I think the size needs to be adjusted as well. That sorta looks smaller then the original Morrowind buildings which where hugely smaller then something that could be lived in. Also maybe the thatched roof is a little out of character of the vivec city but other then that the design looks Awesome! :)
Thats true, the door frame should be a lot smaller. About half way.
@happy: That roof you highlighted in the concept art: I think it could be wood too.
But I mostly agree with Smite because of his (ancient) and mine (rich people) arguments. Maybe straw could appear on non-temporary stands or shelters or something. Maybe in the "outer parts" or at the arena as shelters for fighting groups (just an idea, have seen no CA or model for the new arena).
I'll also add in my two cents and reiterate that Vivec should be more egyptian and mayan inspired, so stone is a must for roofs.
I think you mean 'Babylonian', 'Sumerian', and 'Assyrian' more so than Egypt or Mayan. But yeah, stone mud brick or that weird concrete they've got going on would be best for these styles as well.
Are you still keen to do these keo1982?
