[RELz] VESSELS, EATING WARES, BOWLS by SilentJubJub

Submitted by grumpycat on

All the models in this thread need to be redone for legal and esthetic purposes before we will do a release . If you feel like you can contribute by doing some or all of these models then please leave a comment at the bottom of this thread.

Let us know what 3d modeling program and also what year it is you use, as we need to find out if we need to convert the files for you or get you setup with appropriate importers.

I would like to claim everything here and will get started ASAP.

Silentjubjub submitted first bugbowl already. Congratulations to him on the quick turn around. I've applied environmental mapping for reflective surface, so thats why things look like they do Silentjubjub

Might as well post progress on the things in this thread.

As you can see above, the first bug bowl has been completed.

Using it's mesh as a base, I have modeled the remaining three bugbowls.

Because the detailing is just baked maps, I don't mind going over the source files and doing a rebake if somebody feels that something needs to be altered!

I was thinking that we should make whatever creatures these come from. Basically small version of Shalk. could just make them ambient, but if skeevers attack I could see these as an alternative to Shalk, and perfectly lore friendly, unless these are imported materiels?

Hmmm, time issues aside I would of built the creatures first and the bowls/equiment second...But its too late for that so I don't think its a bad idea to make these creatures a reality.

The thing is that the dimensions of the bowls have to be exact, as they are used to contain other clutter. So the creature shapes would be slightly different to the concave shape of the bowls. They were always going to have to be made separately anyway.

Ugh.

Sorry I haven't been posting in this thread. It didn't even come to mind the importance of letting people know which models were actually being done. And truth be told, I had to take a large break from all of this due to school's final projects/making my own game.

Every model in here BUT the beerstein has been done and have been in Happy's hands for quite some time but I will NOT have the silverware package turned in as I found that Ravanna had made them due to him not knowing I had done mine. His handles are better though.

I'm working on the UV unwrap for the beerstein and will bake it tomorrow followed by texturing.

But here is the high poly right now: Beerstein_High (View in 3D)

Bug bowls are really cool but... Now we need bugs they're made from :D

are there any cubemaps on the bowls? I like them but they look chilly

Update on beerstein!

Working tomorrow on seam removal and stuff.

Nice work :-) can you post pics of the other stuff you have done?

Not posting the silverware because Ravanna did them already and I like his better. [External image]

Fabricant Elixir:

THIS did not turn out that great at all. I don't think I know how to do bottles for CK at all. The new potion bottles look nice so maybe this needs whatever treatment those received... Also the model has a big seam that I couldn't get rid of. It only pops up in the right lighting though. Happy said someone else could fix it since I was running around in circles.

Wooden Fork and Wooden Knife:

Limeware Flask:

sorry dude I thought u had dissappeared at the time i did silver, dont stab me with fork! :(
All of which i like btw, especially the limeware.

This took a bit longer than I expected because my normal map was causing half the bottom of the beerstein to just cut to pure black. After much experimenting, I fixed it by turning my polys a whole bunch in the offending area...

And here we are!

As long as nobody has any concerns, I think this set is officially finished. At least on my end...

Every one of my models has a collision mesh that works so that's good. There are, of course, Havok settings to be messed with. Maybe an environmental map to be added etc.

I'll just hand this to Happy (Grumpy) now.

Awesome, I have all your other models in the game (well they still need collision) but they are looking great.

It looks great, I would recommend that you add some wear on the edges to bring out the shapes more its a clutter item so the player camera will be farther away from it so the detail will be lost unless there is some lines to make them pop more.
