@Iniquity: I'm curious as to why you're so against making little changes. No hostility or anything, I'm actually curious. Morrowind allows room for it. Even the lore, some times.
I dont like when title things (yes, this window is title thing) changed.

Iniquity, just please don't tell modelers to not have creative freedom over designs, we must put full trust in their abilities, otherwise this project would not exist or be as successful as it has been with creativity. Just look at how everything has been redesigned for proof of that.
A person may take you suggestion as a team decision rather than your personal choice.
From that file you can make all the parts seen above easily.
All stairs are already done, there are 4 types for randomisation, so just duplicate and move into position.
When modelling new pieces, rember to vert colour AO into it
Mazam is unable to work on these due to real life, so we would love for somebody to pick up this claim. Ravanna has already created templates for these so its a case of using these to create the buildings. Game on!
Well, it depends on the load i get from my university and stuff.
I will try to free at least the weekend for it. Possibly one or two days during the week. I already talked to Ravanna.
I consider this as a trial of my participation. Since this is my first mod/ project/ structured group work its mostly a learning process for me (organization wise and stuff).
I hope to not disappoint you guys! :D I can redo the models, however I may require help with this AO vertex painting and I am a little noob when it comes to highquality texturing (I get this will be done by someone else?) :D
I originally applied for the Dwemer Interiors, but got redirected to the Hlaalu buildings.
A few things of note, the buttresses are separate from the buildings models, so need to be in similar style. As you can see for the stair case leading to doors, doesn't really fit. I'd be happy to remove the "rails" from these models altogether.
I need to play around with some settings, the surfaces are too shiny. This is in shade but when sun is directly on it, its super bright.
I don't see that it's pink, but maybe it's because I'm colourblind. Like the textures, but the parts around the door and the windows with the broken up paint look a bit monotonous. It's the same thickness all around all of them, and it looks almost as if it was broken off on purpose. On this level of being worn it might look better if other parts of the building were also damaged, and the thickness of the broken off parts varied a bit.
Perhaps a rail-less variant for the overlook, but I feel that the rails/buttresses are too much an iconic/defining part of a hlaalu architecture to remove.

This is possible with the overlays, but just means more UVing for Ravanna (or heavens knows we actually get somebody else to help). But some will be for poor sections and upperclass will probably have very little worn.
I feel at this stage that this can be done later, lets just get these versions into the game, and like everything can be tweaked to perfection when we get time.
I'd assume the building textures are made with the color palette of surrounding terrain in mind. And as the West Gash uses many reddish colored rocks, the buildings will use a similar set of colors. I actually really like the new textures compared to the old set, if only because it works well in conjunction with the rocks around Balmora. Only thing is the buttresses clash with the rest of the building, but i assume those haven't been retextured yet?
Yeah, the buttress assets haven't been made yet, so they are placeholders. I agree, I like having the Hlaalu textures match the rock, although I think there needs to be a balance between the current red rock color and more of a brown-ish rock for the ultimate palette of West Gash. So less red than it is now, but not entirely brown either.
Like the vaguely pinkish tint. As far as the first image goes it looks more like an optical illusion brought out by the red rock background. In the second image it appears to just be the lighting giving it that look. But it really give the player an idea of what material the building was made out of. Being mud with a lot of iron oxide in it.
Is further help still needed on any of these? I've been considering trying my hand at environmental assets (especially buildings and modular interiors) for a while now, but have always been a little pensive since I don't have 3ds Max, and it seems like much of the workflow for this project uses it.

Always. Any 3d program will do. In this particular instance the templates are done, its a case of making the various buildings from them. If you are up to it, then Ravanna is best to get files off and explanation.

could we redesign the windows?
But of course :)
plz, dont redisign windows :(
If you do not want a redesign then come up with a concept that would be better

So yeah ignore Iniquity, you can of course redesign the window
Weren't these already being done (the windows, doors etc) by Ravanna and the others in the Hlaalu exteriors thread?

Ive sent pm to u. This is not right thred to discuss about it.
Posting this here again

Yes they are being worked on by Ravanna.

I am in I guess. :D
Hey ziegel999, how much time can you spare to do this? Want to make sure you're up for the task.

Textures are already done mostly. If you feel u need a special trim for part of the building, let us know
Maybe make this thread claimed, no ?
Moved back to unclaimed Sept 22 2014
ziegel completed 10 of these models, and hasnt replied to PMs.
I'll give u a list of what he did.
TempusF also started some hlaalu stuff a week ago, and needs to check in.
First test of Ravanna building in game.

Check out window details ;-)
nmive but why are the textures pink?

Great work Grumpy , but the wall texture is indeed pink - looking .
No, it's salmon.
Perhaps a rail-less variant for the overlook, but I feel that the rails/buttresses are too much an iconic/defining part of a hlaalu architecture to remove.
So yeah, you are all colour blind :P
