First of the four concepts I'm planning to make. This is the armour-uniform of the Order of the Watch. They are the branch of Indoril who guard the City of Vivec. The other orders are of the War - taking the fight to Daedra and Sixth House, Inquisitors - interrogating, investigating, finding and condemning heretics, and Doctrine - holy warrior scholars, who's served their time first in the Watch, and then either in War or Inquisitions, and now spend their days mostly on leading House Indoril and reading sacred texts in Vivec's library. Many thanks to Saivryn and Frederick van de Bunt for providing me with the sketches of their ideas, really helped me out and I'm sure they'll help even more with the other three.
Nice one Dragomir! The ordinators were always my favorites, and I'm glad you've accurately interpreted the mask in particular. It's interesting to see how even over the course of this project your drawing skills have developed into something even awesome-er than they were originally!
Thank you for your artistry, Saint Dragomir. I shall always hold dear the power and faith you exemplify in your brush, for within lies Mercy, Mastery, and Mystery. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Hey guys, it's been a while. At the moment I'm really busted with academy - related stuff. Don't think I'm wasting time though, it will make me a better artist and in turn I'll be making better concepts for Skywind ;) I already have some new ideas and way of thinking. Anyways, just so you know I'm alive I'm posting some sketches I've doodled in the meantime, largely to try out some new lore, or design ideas. Enjoy:
Buoyant Armigers, Kirkbride described them as "BDSM flying circus acrobats with the biggest muatras of all and knives in their hair". I used parts of my original glass armour concept, but they probably won't get their own outfit for now. Crazy hair though - might be possible. And yes, I made them look like 80's metal band on purpose.
Hlaalu guard, Armun An bonemold. I'll be making a bonemold sheet pretty soon, similar to the one I made for Indoril Ordinators, with all the types. I decided their shape would reflect the architectural styles of each House. Hlaalu with straight lines and smooth curves like their urban homes, Redoran curvy and smooth like their huts, and Telvanni pointy like the roots of their mushroom towers.
Ascadian Isles Netchiman. The guys who herd netch. Basically a concept of the boiled netch armour they're going to wear. I decided the one that was already modelled will be of ashlander making and it will replace the basic one. This one is boiled in kwama wax, and doesn't need that much ash protective gear since Ascadian Isles are pretty nice and not ashy. This will be the first armour I'll be working on when I get back.
Urshilaku ashlander. Netch armour on which Smartinius based (among other sketches, repaints and references) the ashlander netch suit.
Erabenimsun ashlander, wearing a raw glass armor. Not sure if it will ever be made or used, since bonemold would suit Erabenimsun tribe much better anyways.
Ahemmusa ashlander, wearing clothes made of guar hide. Poor fella trying to eat an ash yam he found. Doesn't need a mask nor goggles since they live in Northern Grazelands. Very ragged.
Zainab ashlander hunter. This one I think I like the most of my ashlander sketches. Tribal, strong, rich. His native chitin suit is decorated with cliffracer plumes. No ash protecting gear or even shoes - not that much use for those in the Heart of the Grazelands (even though the blight comes there, so they'd have SOME lying around).
The ashkhan of Zainab, old womanizer himself - Kaushad.
Full pose:
A little bonus, Falmer, Khajiit warrior of Cathay breed and Imperial battlemage:
That's about it I think. Actual fleshed out concepts will be coming up after two weeks from now, when I'm done with my exams.
hey dragomir. i think you really have nice armor and design ideas. i especially like how morrowindish everything looks and that is a strong point i think. i hope we can soon work together again on a new 3d project, because your design ideas are very helpful and working with you in general is very nice and produktive. i wish the best and hope that acadamy run well :)
Alright, first concept after the break, got a bit rusty so it took me longer than I anticipated. Anyway, here it is, the boiled netch:
The previous Netch, which actually looks more like Morrowind's boiled, and was already modelled by Smartinius will now be regarded (maybe also called) as an ashlander netch armour. This one is boiled in Kwama wax, and made by the Netch Herders from Ascadian Isles. Since Ascadian Isles is a pretty nice place it doesn't have any mask or goggles, and has revealing sleeves.

Besides that, we will very likely have modular goggles and masks to wear together with it.
> Ascadian Isles is a pretty nice place
Hmm.. armor looks like as if its not so nice place. He equipped much more hard than just generic cow(netch-)boy.
> modular
Would be nice. Part diversity is the key.
Finally finished the Dunmer physique. I'd post it normally, but we have overly sensitive people in the community, so be warned, there's very mild nudity in that concept - nothing you wouldn't see in an elementart school biology textbook though.
Maybe some thinner arms for the males might help as well, to add to the more insectoid look, but aside from that minor thing these are looking really great!
I don't think Eham would have to do anything for a new body type to be put in. There are tons of mods that add them, so it's apparently not too complex a task.
Wow, that's totally what Ohmes ought to look like.
As for muscularity - I'm thinking in a wider perspective here. We're going to redo Bosmer too, and I'd like the races to be as different from each other as possible, so a wiry, thin looks goes for them. For Dunmer I deliberately wanted very thin waist, not too big body, and muscular arms and legs.

Who gonna redo all this? Not being snide just wondering because i assume your talking about custom meshes and custom armor morphs and Im kinda wondering who and when you plan on doing this.
Eham and Ravanna already have agreed to work on that, while redoing the faces. Well, they at least agreed for Dunmer, but making Bosmer more slender should be a thing too I think.
Not sure if armor morphs are necessary, most of Dunmer ones are already designed and modeled in a way to reflect this kind of a physique.

I think thats a little subjective actually. Since I'm sure there are some muscular Dunmer but I do agree that the Ashland based Dunmer should be more thin. Especially the older people.
Subjective, but as the art director Dragomir has to direct the art in a coherent direction. These will be on sliders anyway, but making them seem more 'alien' and less like recolored Nords (as they appeared in Skyrim) suits me fine. Dunmer can be muscled, but wiry. Not bulky.
Actually, on that note, old people were implemented into Skyrim as an entirely new race, which a) I find sort of hilarious, and b) means that all of the old people in the game are old white folks. Would it make sense to have a special body type for elderly dunmer, or are we just sticking with one dunmer race in the engine?
It would be really awesome to have slightly different animations for old people, hunchbacked and flimsy, but I'm afraid that's a bit too much work :P Unless we get someone that has a mocap studio.
Old Dunmer would probably lose a lot of their muscle weight, and look something like that guy with number 73 in this picture.
Could still make them separate races, but behave as Dunmer or whatever. Just give them a slughtly different phenotype, like they appeared in Skyrim. And offer the player the chance to play as (______ race, elder).
A little concept of Chitin shields. I couldn't really find creatures you'd make a good shield from, so I just went with completely new ideas for shapes. Therefore, this can be treated as ideas for creatures too ;) How would you say shield-beetle in Dunmeri...
YAH! This looks perfect Drag and Iniquity.
Wow. This looks pretty sweet!
We're watching you... SCUM!

Aaaaaaaaaand... saved.
Amazing work, Drago! This perfectly captures the best qualities of the original! I also love the glaive!
Someone please make wallpaper of that, in 1366 x 768. Because that's the stupid resolution that my laptop is in :P
It would look cool if someone made one of them all standing in front of the Ghostgate or something.
Yup, I already finished the second one. This time the Order of War.

Nice one Dragomir! The ordinators were always my favorites, and I'm glad you've accurately interpreted the mask in particular. It's interesting to see how even over the course of this project your drawing skills have developed into something even awesome-er than they were originally!
I AM TH LOAH!!!
Beautiful. :')
I finished up the Bitter Coast mangrove concept, a solid proof that I suck at landscapes.

Beautiful, that is just so... peaceful.
Oh goodie, so yet again I decided to take a small break from armour and bam, I'm 7 hours into this mofo. But I think it's finished pretty much.

A really nice desktop wallpaper might I add.
Looks EPIC

NOBODY EXPECTS THE INDORIL INQUISITION!
Drago "Mad Skilz" Mir
Is that a hammer or an axe that he has?
He'll beat some reason into your head with it if you defy the AlmSiVi.

Now, guess what? I just finished. ALL OF THEM :D
HERE you can see all four in all their glory. Click that link. It's DAMN worth it.

Zainab ashlander
huntershaman is the best. #ure we need some like this.Ashlanders don't have shamans. They have wise women. Which I forgotten to post, here's Nibani Maesa:

THIS ARMOR IS SO AMAZING!! :0

Can't wait to nail down that boiled netch together Smarti :D
Drago is back! Time to party :D

Will be good to see such hunter in group like hunters in Dragonborn.
Very nice, i would add some face protection and cloth parts on arms.

Maybe it's the Netch mating season, gotta protect himself a bit ;)
Great as always Drago
The color and details on these are amazing! Love the first of the Order of the Watch. I hope you'll keep doing these :)
Fleshing out ideas for Zafirbel Bay. Molecrab nests, and Cliff Racers nesting on top of columns.

Finally finished the Dunmer physique. I'd post it normally, but we have overly sensitive people in the community, so be warned, there's very mild nudity in that concept - nothing you wouldn't see in an elementart school biology textbook though.
Dunmer Physique
Hopefully Eham will find a way to implement this body type and faces in Skywind :D
Male could stand to have more defined wrists, but it looks solid overall.
Fixed, thanks for the tip. That's what I get from working until morning :P
Those look really really good!!
