Morrowind and Windows 8

Submitted by dalbass on

Hi I am pretty new to the pc gaming community and have a question regarding Morrowind and Windows 8. I see that in order to run Skywind you must have a copy of Morrowind on your PC, but after doing some searches it seems that the game is not compatible with windows 8 (or at least needs some tweaking to get going). Does it matter if the game is fully functional in order to play skywind? I only ask as I don't want to pay out for Morrowind game of the year addition if I am unable to use it to play Skywind. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am a noob so please be kind :) Thanks guys.

Well actually - if nothing has changed, the installer and launcher only detects if you have original morrowind, it doesnt use it (doesnt run the game in the process) so i wouldnt worry about it.

Both Skyrim and Morrowind work fine for me in Windows 8. Plus, Skywind isn't yet available for download but previously, it just checked if you had an install of Morrowind.
