Hello, i just create an account in this amazing site because i want to be a part of skywind development. I'm two years away from obtaining my computing engineering degree and my dream was always to create videogames, because i love them as a form of art and entertainment of course.
My problem is that give never EVER taken part of a game development and i decided it's time for me to start gathering some experience. I was looking forward to this project and i think i want to participate in it no matter the task, being the huge TES series fan that i am, so i can contribute with this amazing modding comunity. Here's what i can offer:
- Experience with OOP, mostly JAVA and C++
- Knowledge of DB design, creation, administration and maintenance
- Knowledge of SQL
- I write poetry and short tales, and im an avid reader. As an amateur i can offer writing and/or correcting of dialogue and in-game texts
- I have a vast knowledge of english so i can translate and/or correct to spanish (my native language), something bethesda has never given to us ;)
- As an IT student, i can learn and provide support of any software realted topic
That would be it. Some things to keep in mind:
- I don't have any experience in game developing or modding, and i don't kwon which tools are involved in those processes, tough i can learn it.
- I haven't played morrowind, but i have played oblivion and skyrim
- I have a low-mid range pc (corei5 760, 8gb ram, geforce gts 450)
so, my questions would be:
- What can i do to help given my experience?
- If there's something i can do, what?
- Can you give some guidelines in the tools i need to use and texts i should read in order to get started?
