REDORAN BUILDING INTERIORS [Claimed by BoltBunny]

Submitted by grumpycat on

All the models in this thread need to be redone for legal and esthetic purposes before we will do a release . If you feel like you can contribute by doing some or all of these models then please leave a comment at the bottom of this thread.

Let us know what 3d modeling program and also what year it is you use, as we need to find out if we need to convert the files for you or get you setup with appropriate importers.

We are also looking for people who can compare a similar tileset done by our partner project Siligrad Tower to match up models, so that its less work. We need long time lurkers who want to do grunt work basically.

Razy has signed up to do some, but we need several members working on this for it to be completed.

This is going great. The cool thing is that when you're finished its another set of interiors that can be claimed :)

i'll try this one, i work in 3ds Max 2013

liquor,  Revada has SO got this claimed :p
We really need to take a look at other areas. Hlaalu exterior, interior, and dwemer interior.
got a portfolio of your work?

Working on the floor texture atm, kinda want it somewhere between this and the sandy dirt floor. Cant seem to get the color right just yet, will add more noise and detail when i getter closer.

The texture is tile-able, theres just a symmetry modifier in the scene.

Here's the sandier texture from the barracks and tower on the corridors, needs a color tweak but works well.

Not tile-able currently.

This keeps getting better and better :)

Argh, just - so - good!

Back to the grindstone.

Quick update, I've fixed textures uv's and all floors should be seamless now. All finished parts work on the grid and have collisions.

I think I'm 75% done with the Redoran interiors. hopefully have it all ready to use by the end of the week.

Yup, looking awesome - great job!

Been watching this thread for awhile....absolutely amazing redoran interiors!! Hope you make other interiors after this set because your work is brilliant

Zbrushiiinng :D

Will you bake it to ie 1/4 part then have the landscaper/builder rotate it about the axis to create the whole ring?

Done a quick bake with just a z plane uvw and a relax. 560 tri's and 2x1024 textures both the can be halved i reckon and still look fairly good.

Looking at the window atm. I was thinking of changing it slightly and maybe doing a multiple choice but i think old faithful still looks the best and will save me from the lords of lore.

Hmm, maybe you should see how the Redoran exterior windows turn out before making the interior windows. Or try and work with mooncactus on it. It would be a little odd having the exterior and interior windows looking completely different.

fuu yeah. TBH i didn't even think about whether this was an interior window or exterior, i just thought lets make a window. yeah will look at mooncactus stuff and see what hes done. i think its back to the drawing board on this one.

> May be a little too H.R.Gieger-ish
= That is really nice. Will be even nicer if you will make it cleaved (with sharp corners, not the polish one).

And in poor houses glasses can consist from multiple shards, glued with some black tar.

I have relevant QS : How to make glowing?

Looking great. Can you please make sure the green glass part is a separate texture so that we can apply special shaders for the glass?

Gonna redesign the frame so everything will need to be re-baked, ill separate the textures on the next pass.

The Glass is a bit sharper now but isn't quite the same as the crystals yet.

Brilliant! I just think it should be cleaved, not only because it look so fantastic, but also because no way that dunmers can melt glass (though they can use some woodoo). If they would - glass would'nt be so rare and expensive.
---
Don't know why, but cleaved stones (and other crafted in lack of resources items) looks great. Maybe because of early human history some people like diamonds and some other stuff even now.

Dunmer can melt glass, even the volcanic one (Which is not the same as the one windows are made from btw) - that's how their armour is made. Hell, they can melt freaking Ebony. Glass in a place like Ald'ruhn would either get poured into a form when liquid, or if for some weird reason it was chiseled it would get smooth pretty quick from the ash anyway. So I would go with smooth, but not clear and with visible dirt inside. Should be kept as it is if it would be too much work though, I won't be going crazy over the design of a window, just don't make it any more chiseled.

Cleaved was the look I was trying to hit but my first attempt was a little dull.

Maybe i should do a clean opal with some cleaved indents in it? or just tone it down a touch.

We could use a cubemap of a blurry interior since the glass is quite obscure. means we would get away with using it on all the windows. that would be dope... but one step at a time

> Dunmer can melt glass, even the volcanic one (Which is not the same as the one windows are made from btw) - that's how their armour is made.
= I think that was just simplification from Bethesda (ebony ingot, weird!). From time to time in series glass items looks like cleaved. I think treating glass, ebony and stalhrim processing as cleaving will be more interesting than FORMING GLASS WITH HAMMER. Also it (if they cannot melt it) can explain why this category so expensive - it just cannot be reused after significant damage.

> Maybe i should do a clean opal with some cleaved indents in it?
= I think it looks good now. It have some charm of stone tool.
= And if you will make it as a separate object (just chipped round from glass) - i think you can made it as ingame misc/ambient item.

Some interesting-looking references:

They can melt it Alysander... There's no question about it. It will be explained in the armor making quest. And the glass for windows IS NOT THE SAME glass from which they make their armor. Think about it. There is no way every other commoner House has windows worth 17000 Septims each. It's normal glass that can be molten in every other furnace. And Dunmer have furnaces way better than "every other".

Kryptonite windows :D

Is there really a discussion about if they can melt glass!?!?! I feel they could forge the one ring to rule them all.

Ok. May be they melting it for create general form and cleaving it to make more special form. Without cleaving glass and obsidian/ebony (IMHO it's obvious reference) would loss all of their benefits over iron and steel as a weapons (sharp and not blunting blade).

Let it be

Then the ashstorms would smooth it up anyway. Alysander, I beg you, you just let it go.

Tbh i like all the windows here so far, side by side with hlaalu you can tell the same culture made them, though slightly different methods. The glass part of the mesh included a _M mask with the environment map "ore_orich_e" had a good look to it.

The Rat in the Pot, a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

I do use my modular parts in this model but have had convert a fair bit into one mesh for it to work. Its my interpretation and not an exact copy, bottom half is missing a modular room piece  that i still need to make. The entrance is using a edited skyrim texture currently.

More incoming, and a good deal of parts are ready for release.

methinks aldruhn will win the "1st city to be finished anew"

Amazeballs Revada. Do you have an ETA on when you might finish the whole set? And I have to ask, you're such a freakin God with this stuff that do you want to then carry on with either doing the Vivec or Hlaalu interiors? I feel like with you onboard we can get this project finished!

if he did hlaalu interiors, those could be blazed through at the speed now at which the exteriors are being done

Ah, the rat in the pot... ratways of Ald-Ruhn. This is just... perfect.

For all of Ald-Ruhn, i'm not sure because every time  I walk round I spot another asset that needs making. I was hoping id be done soon but realistically another couple of weeks.

[External image]

Eloths asked me to work on the daedric interiors but to be honest i think once I've finished the Redoran stuff i'm gonna work on some smaller assets for a while. Maybe some more weapons or try an Armour. The reasoning being that its a lot of work to build all the pieces and make sure they work.

agreed, interiors is a big job, u need a break, and your smaller assets are very good also.

For sure, especially because the redoran has so many parts to it, will be nice to try something else. Its a mammoth job. Let us know if you want any , and upload what you have already so that we can start to get it into the game please :)

Yes, so, what's happening here?

Was this abandoned? I hope not, because these interiors look amazing, really captures that Redoran feel perfectly

Sadly yes, Revada hasnt checked in in ages

It's weird why would someone do that a bunch of work on something, and then just disappear...
