Lequeim: Cave trapper

Submitted by griff5n on
This is a creature that I made to be an ambush predator you would hardly notice until its too late. They have hard rock shaped heads that vary in size shape and color depending on the type of rocks and color scheme of their region. They are masters of camouflage and use just about anything they can to hide and wait for prey. They also have hard natural insulating armor that is very hard to get through with fire lightning or a sword and can usually only be smashed with a hammer before they stop pursuing you. They produce a venom that makes the victim nauseous and tired. If anyone wants to help with the concept art I would greatly appreciate it. :)

if it will be plausible, it will be circumvented/outflanked by simple viper.

Humanoid pretending to be a stone? Too childish. Like "sci-fi" of 60s.

Just a concept. Could be made less humanoid.

I was also thinking of making large turtles that go along the same lines of this.

It's a nice idea, but I'm afraid this creature is simply non-canon, it's not mentioned in any of the lore and doesn't fit in with the ecology or visual style of Morrowind.

Caves have been dreeaddfully boring. Looking for things to make them interesting.

I agree with you there, but would say it needs to be more insectoid or reptilian, and fit neatly into the foodchain / evolutionary feel.

Fury_On created this concept for a larval form of Nix, maybe it would be more appropriate? Still kind of fits your trapping idea, though I don't know that it would work in caves.

If the higher-ups agree with you that there is a need for a camouflaging cave-critter, then I would be happy to lend a hand with concepts, but for now I imagine it is more unnecessary work and can't really see it happening sorry
