I absolutely love it! You can give him a pipe to smoke, that would be so awesome :D We'll need to figure out steam particle effects for Yagrum anyway, so he could as well be smoking. I don't really know why, I just love the idea. That shellring is an amazing touch too ;)
Mudcrab Merchant is looking glorious, glad we are differentiating him more from the normal mudcrabs. Also getting Harry Partridge to do it would be hilarious.
It is cool, it would be better if you change its color to classic brown - we shell keep the sense of Morrowind
When finished plz upload your work into Skywind's Gallery
I did some modifications. I hope IRomanDubina will not be offended ;) Now it looks like true capitalist bourgeois exploiter. Agree with me or not I like that :P I was thinking about cigar but it was too modern. I added sack of gold instead of shell to emphasizehow it is greedy.
I've done fast sketch how the island could look like or just nearest surrounding. (I know this is not beatifull)
1. Treasure cove built-up from trash(barrels, planks, moss) from leftovers from wreck. Imagine how mud-crab could built that, I think it could do that only in awkward, poorly way. Of course enter protected by key.
3. Some trash (several coins, bottles, desks etc.) to create mess.
Optional I will add mud-crab sth like 10k health and triggers like summoning two daedras when u attack it or constant summoning mud-crabs in nearby waters during battle (or just one big mud-crab boss). Creating most deadly creature ever in TES. When somehow u managed to kill it then u search corpse but u don't find the key to cove :P
"I mite be cursed, but that doesn't men I can't sell things for low low prices"
YES.
together whit the backpackrat the would earn so much gold because i would sell them anything for any price

Love the concept, as it gives him a unique look to distinguish from the other mudcrabs. Plus the smoking idea from Dragomir would also be interesting.
I love the design! maybe a small color variation?
According to the Mudcrab Merchant's dialog, he's drunk.
He is holding a skooma bottle... thash grape!
New version the Mudcrab Merchant
EXQUISITE! Now we just get Harry Partridge to voice him with an English gentleman voice and we're set :D

I was just kidding, but he could be a nice fit for something indeed.

I would like if he was greedy like Mr.krab, mabby the reason why he is a krab now
we need stephen fry to voice it
DaedricLord, maybe you're right. I will try to change color.
This, sir, is an epic win. Time is money bwoy!
Lol, I recorded a sample of his dialogue, it's pretty hilarious :D
Don't be afraid to have fun with creeper either ;)
Creeper needs to have little jingly bells on his ears, like in Kirkbride's concept (130, 131). Best base it off Rav's scamp too :P
He could have a satchel as well, overstuffed with patches, stains, and bulges. One that looks too big for him. :P
Updated

Accepted or not it was fun ^_^
but where will be mage, who command this creature? :)
@alysander Talking merchant mud-crab is magic enough :P We need real challenge in this game guys :)
Ventriloquisting mage + crab is better than sapient talking crab i think.
Not so tale, vulgar magic.
It could be the work of Sheogorath or another Daedric prince, like how Creeper is Barbas.
I prefer more "natural" causes. By the way, not-depicted daedric princes in Skyrim is good step.
Well Creeper was a daedric prince in Disguise, I assume the Mudcrab Merchant is something like that, too.

Colovian fur helm?
"Tale of the Devious Trader" (a fan story about the mudcrab merchant's origins) is canon to me.
"Come sea what booty I have for sail"
"I'm giving you one Shell of a good offer"
We need Sea puns... Make this shit happen!
‟They were at the coast
Everybody had, matching scowls
Somebody went under a rock
And there they saw, some mud
But it wasn't just mud
It was a mud-CRAB!
Da da da da da da, DA DA DA DA
Mudcrab!
Da da da da
Yeah mudcrab! ”
@iceflame542 I think now it's better :P
I added Colovian, organic sunglassen and bottle of skoooma. For me it looks like a boss now :)
However If u don't like idea with cave with treasure it could be simple chest serving as a desk and on it some coins, paper, quill etc.
