Increasing Elys Universal Silent Voice pause time

Submitted by Elder on

First, I want to say thanks to all those of you keeping this project alive.  I hadn't looked into Morroblivion in many years. This weekend though, I managed to get v24 installed and running without issue. It is much easier to get Morroblvion up and running with the way you guys have packaged everything up. Thanks.

One thing I noticed, while playing, was that Elys Silent Voice mod didn't really pause the dialogue long enough for me to read it all. I found a mod on TESNexus that allows you to customize the length of time the text will stay on the screen.

You can simply replace Elys' mp3 with one of these MP3s for the length of time that is suitable for you. If you choose something real long like 20 seconds, you can pretty much turn the game into a click-when-you-are-ready-for-the-next-piece-of-text game. There is another 'silent' MP3 mod on TESNexus that also has a 30 second silent MP3.

This is Great! Thank you. I will put a link to this in my installation instructions.

I don't know why Ely pick such a short time, simply click as you read is the best way to deal with things.

I have a problem: I replaced the Elys_USV.mp3 with the 20.mp3 (correctly renamed in Elys_USV.mp3), but the dialogs vanish as fast as without Universal Silent Voice. When I replace it with the original Elys_USV.mp3 the dialogs vanish not so fast, but still too fast for my taste. Have I done something wrong?

Edit: Ok, I took a look at the details of the original .mp3-file and spotted differences between the longer one. I have created a 30-second-silence-mp3-file with the following settings: 41100 Hz and 64 kbps. Now it works fine [External image]
