Lines to practise on?

Submitted by Vexed Forest on

I'm wanting to volunteer for voice acting, but I want to make sure I can get my accents right. I was wondering if there were any good lines to practice with, as I find that very helpful when practicing accents for drama in high school.

Brett: He... he's black...

Jules: Go on...

Brett: He's bald

Jules: Does he look like a bitch?

Brett: What?

Jules: DOES HE LOOK LIKE A BITCH?

Brett: No!

Jules: Then why you try to fuck him like a bitch?

Brett: I didn't...

Jules: Yes you did. Yes you did! You tried to fuck him. And Marcellus Wallace don't like to be fucked by anybody except Mrs. Wallace.

Check the Idle Banter Collaboration Thread, lots of good stuff there. Especially from Aurabelle, Krysalynne, Willowisp, Twentyenginerunner, or myself. The lines Happy provided are pretty good too, though. :)

My advice is that you shouldn't learn from lines but try an imitate a character you know and see can you get your voice like them, obviously you will sound different but you have an idea of how to speak those lines. You just imagine the character speaking the lines you want to say then try to copy what is in your head and you would be pleasantly surprised.
