I'm running Oblivion on Windows 7 64 bit , every atempt I make at running Morroblivion regardless of the version it fails. I have downloaded all the required files, installed Oblivion, Shivering Isles, Morrowind GOTY all fresh. They also are all in the correct load order. I start OBSE, it loads Oblivion for a brief moment, but before the starting game logo actually starts, the game crashes and simply closes. I've even tried the the compatibility modes incase it was Oblivion. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
Yep, I installed it to
Yep, I installed it to C:\games for Morrowind and Oblivion.

Similar Problem
I have a similar problem to AtasArusiek. I have windows 7 64 bit, with oblivion installed with steam in the games folder. My mods are in the proper order. It seems to crash prior to any loading taking place, i.e. immediately after the Bethesda logo.
Load Order
If the game crashes before it finishes loading, then you have not set the load order properly. There are some tips at the bottom of my Installation Instructions.
Oblivion Crash
Turns out my problem was earlier than the load order. I had to delete the Oblivion.ini file and then it started perfectly.
Oblivion Crash
A buddy was having that problem... read your post, and viola! Delete .ini worked.
Thanks!

I can cofirm, I was having
I can cofirm, I was having the same problem. I am using a Steam installation of Morrowind and Oblivion. Deleting the Oblivion.ini file fixed the crash on startup.

Well this is taken from
Well this is taken from Intallation Instructions. I don't know anything else. If this doesn'T fix it, you have to wait for somebody else to find a solution:
"If running either Windows 7 or Windows Vista, Oblivion should NOT be installed to it's default
location c:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion
If it is installed like this, then Uninstall, and reinstall to c:\Games\Oblivion and c:\Games\Morrowind
User Access Control will otherwise prevent Oblivion from functioning properly.
Don't try to work around this. Bite the bullet, and reinstall."
