Bugs

Submitted by Korriban on

Hi guys I'm Korriban and yesterday I installed the Morroblivion mod. Although the game is amazing and the effort you have given it is obvious, I have some problems I hope you can help me with
1)Almost no-one has a dialogue voice. With the exception of the first 3 people I met(I think), everyone else(I have been playing for a few hours and talked to anyone in balmora and its surrounding territories) had just silent lines. Even after I installed the voices mod(i merged its data folder with the oblivion data folder and activated it from wrye bash), noone spoke(for example, the mod description says that Cosades is completed, but he didnt utter a word)but still that wouldnt be a problem if elys' silent mod didnt fast forward many dialogues before I could read them , so, if i didnt do anything wrong, can i increase the time the lines stay on screeen?
2)2 DLCs from oblivion(The Orrery and Shivering Isles) have already been activated. Is something wrong or is it smething that just stayed there?

3)My frame rate sometmes gets too slow(especially in battle), while Oblivion(before mods) worked seamlessly

4)I read that you kept the old armour system, with more equipment, like spaulders, etc, but I couldnt find anything from the new categories.
I think that's it,what do you think?

1.) It's not a bug, Morroblivion doesn't have voice acting except for short NPC greetings. Ely's Silent Voice doesn't fast forward dialogue, it gives you 8 seconds for each line. If it's faster in your game, you didn't install it properly. If 8 seconds is still too fast, use Protocolled Dialogues mod.

2.) What do you mean by that?

3.) That's something you'll have to live with. Morroblivion is more demanding than vanilla Oblivion.

4.) I don't know where you read that, but it was a lie. Morroblivion never had Morrowind's armor categories and never will - it's engine limitation.

2) Probably this dued to the new implementation of chargen in v63.

4)Maybe you read it referred to Skywind.

1) The 0.2 version of the mod is outdated. You should use the 0.5 version from http://tesrenewal.com/forums/skywind/skywind-development/3022 .And if you have a localized Oblivion version you should treat the installation procedure with more attention.

Wow qwertyasdgh I expected a fast reply, but not that fast, thanks. Concernig your reply:

1)I understand that Morrowind didnt have dialogues, and that's why I installed this mod(http://tesrenewal.com/forums/skywind/skywind-development/3022) If I understand it correctly, isn't it supposed to add voiced dialogues?

2) It's no big deal really, just the quest notification, a letter in the inventory, and a quest entry in your quest log. It's just anti-immersive

Roxon you posted the 0.2 version wich is outdated. The newest version is in a skywind forum topic posted above(v0.5). He already downloaded the mod.

Korriban have you a localized non english version of Oblivion?

Are you sure to have downloaded the right file? And that it's sane and not corrupted?

Voiced Greeting and Combat is a New Release Updated \\ Computer Grenerated Voice Overs is Still Current

You don't actually need the DLCs for Morroblivion except for Shivering Isles, so it's safe to disable them. Otherwise, disable all of them, save the game, load this mod and enable all the files again and continue playing.

The voice acting mod is inherently bugged, some mp3 files are encoded in such a way that Oblivion can't play them but the silent voice mod detects that you have the correct mp3 files and thus the dialogue is still too fast. So unless you reencode all the files to 64kbps mono this is something you will encounter with a few characters. In addition to that there are a few missing lines. Caius Cosades should work though. Just install it again, overwriting everything.

If he have a localized version of Oblivion actually doesn't matter which voiced dialogue mod he installed. The trouble will persist. The only solution is to rename the folder of the voice file for a race with their localized names. If he have an english version of the game well he should try with the other mods("Voiced greetings" and "computer generated voice overs") and then install  "Voced dialogue"(I'm not sure if "Voice Overs V002.esp" should actually be activated, but I thiink it should not be necessary).

However sorry I misunderstood you roxon.

Brainslasher I'm pretty sure that the quest starting bug did not happen with the preivous versions of MMorroblivion+ Chargen and trnasport mod. So maybe it's an error in the new chargen implementation.

No, I have the english steam version with the goty dlc(and I dont knw what you mean by localized)
I dont know if it's corrupted, but i run some of the files and they sounded ok.
But after checking the oblivion files I saw that I accidentaly put elsys' mod in OBSE, instead of OBSE/Plugins, fixed that, and now the lines remain for more time, so I have this going on for me, which is nice
The folders where the voices are is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion\Data\Sound\Voice\Morrowind_ob.esm
and in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion\Data I copied the Voice Overs V002.esp
As I said before, the mod is also activated in Wrye Bash

Localized mean non english version of oblivion, and this is not your case.

Try to reinstall it(maybe after a redownload) overwriting everything.  I looked at the Voice Overs V002.esp file and I think that it should be left unactivated. Doesn't add anything immportant and it's outdate.

Voice Overs 0.5 still running Voice overs V002.esp has Same time and Date Stamp went and  looked through the section on  skywind, nothing has been Corrected in V0.5 Still has all errors that were in V002 topic at Stand Still at the Moment. useable but with errors

Redownloaded it and recopied it, deactivated it from WB, and now cosades has only a few lines(less than half) of voiced dialogue, but everyone else has nothing at all. This didnt change when I reactivated the esp

MMMh I think that brainslasher had the right explanation. The file are encoded badly. Moreover the Morroblivion master is changed from the version that was used to create the mod. Some id dialogue changed.Others was added or deleted. And this probably will still change. If I have time when I end the bloodmoon debugging I maybe can look to at least fix the existent dialogue
