Quest markers?

Submitted by fairline on

First off, thanks to all involved for bringing Morrowind back to life in Oblivion - I can see that hours of painstaking work went into this and it has produced excellent results. I have a couple of questions/comments: Does the latest version include quest markers, as I don't have any in my game? I'm using upwards of 200 mods, including DarnUI which could possibly be killing the quest markers I guess.

Secondly, I'm experiencing a persistant CTD on the road between Fort Moonmoth and Balmora which coincidentally has occured after installing v027. My character was created under v026; could this be the issue? The nature of the crash is similar to corrupt spawnpoints I've experienced in standard Oblivion.

Thanks again for a fantastic mod!

Quest Markers are Very Much there for most quests. I haven't gotten to all the miscellaneous quests yet, but the Main Quest and all the Guild Quests have them, where appropriate. Some Quests wanted to be a hunt. If you don't see them, then make sure you have the proper quest selected, but they ARE there. CTD's have been talked about in many places, including a big warning on my main Project Release thread.

I also can not see the markers, after upgrading from .26. I copied the data folder over the old one and use the unstaller after removing the old esm, yet no markers for either Cauis quest(first one you get when stating game) or the 2nd fighters guild quest going after the egg poachers. I do however have the MW voices at the start of the game.

Its there anything unsual in the upgrade process?

Maybe tell me which quest markers you think you should be seeing but aren't, like what quest? What Stage? Not all stages have markers. I'm telling you they're there. I'm playing the game with markers all over the place. Morrowind is supposed to be a hunt; I've already broken a lot of the hunt/peck nature of it by adding the ones that I did. Some quests have more that others. But, for instance, the Oblivion "Seeking Your Roots" quest does not have markers because it's supposed to be a hunt. A lot of things in Morrowind are like that.

OK, I've picked up my first quest marker for the fighters guild hit on some spies in Caldera - seems to be working fine. I agree with you that we shouldn't be overly reliant on them; I just need to wean myself off Oblivion's 'lead-em-by-the-nose' approach...

My CTD's appear to be creature spawn related.

I like playing with out them myself, for Fallout NewVegas they give you enough info to finish the majority of quests without the markers. But its nice to have them instead of having to use a wiki when you can't find something. I'll test out some other quests to see if I see the markers, I have only tested it on the 2nd fighters guild test(1st step) and the Cauis quests when you first start the game(have to deliver a message). I will try to start some others.

Edit: Ok I took the 1st Thives guild job and there was a marker, yippie. I am still playing FNV so right now I am just testing MorroOB, I did not relized that only some quests had markers.
