Will you be able to use the character you created on Skyrim in Skywind?

Here's what I'd do: Open the character creation screen in the console (showracemenu), and take screen shots for each variable. This resets face shadows and lip color, so you'll want to adjust those back to what they were.
Sure it won't have all your character's perks and stuff, those are going to be different in Skywind anyway I think, but then you can craft a duplicate of your Skyrim character.
NOTE: Don't save your game after doing this, just exit it, as it can reset all perks and attributes. Though I think it only does so if you change the race of your character.
Disregard me, I'm an idiot who didn't know there was a mod that could do that for you.
It doesn't seem to quite do
It doesn't seem to quite do what the original poster intended. Still cool though.
you shouldnt, since skywind
you shouldnt, since skywind is set hundreds of years before skyrim.
Make your skywind character the great grandfather or something (if human). If elf, well, could be the same.
I see your point and I did
I see your point and I did want to play Morrowind again fully remastered and with extra content, but I thought it would be cool to be able to continue your story from Skyrim in Morrowind (Vvardenfell).
And thanks to Leekers for the mod suggestion. I might try that - when I actually get Skywind.

Just out of curiousty, do all mer races live exceptionally long lives? I know that the dunmer do, but I don't know if the others do as well. Just curious. :)
Altmer live the longest.
Altmer live the longest. Orsimer do not however, probably even shorter lives than men.
Mer in generally live a few
Mer in generally live a few hundred years on average. I think Altmer tend to have the longest life spans.
Altmer live the longest
Altmer live the longest without magic assistance at around 700. Dunmer can get super old too, maybe only a century or so less. Bosmer and Orsimer can live around 300, but most orcs would rather die in the prime of their life in battle, and so orcs that reach such ages are rare (the librarian at Winterhold College in Skyrim is around 200+; most orcs die around 50 or so). Bretons don't live nearly as long, but they're still the longest lived among those with human blood. About 150 or so.
With necromantic magicks of course Altmer and Dunmer may live thousands of years. Divayth is older than the members of the Tribunal, and Therana probably is too. Most Telvanni wizards are. And there are Altmer mages so old as to actually be straight-up Aldmer.
Seeing that the Altmer (and
Seeing that the Altmer (and Bosmer) live such exceptionally long lives compared to the races of men, that actually makes it easier to understand just how the Thalmor came into power during the fourth era. If one has lived for centuries and seen the rise and fall of the Septim dynasty, I could see one able to see the fallacies of mankind.
Thanks all for sating my curiosity! That kind of info isn't said outright in games nor on the UESP.
(And also, my apologies for highjacking this thread!)

Traitorous Aldmeri sympathizer.
They instigated the war
They instigated the war between Skyrim and Cyrodil. Let them wear each other down, and then let an age of peace blanket the land for a generation. When all those men that know war are dead, the Altmer will sweep in and crush them under their heel.
And in the end, the humans perish. The Altmer 'win' their war against creation and become as they once were - being of indeterminate form and presence. The towers fall and Nirn collapses in upon itself and time becomes thin. The Dunmer and Khajiit settle on the moons, to live in strange eons until Nerevar is reborn once more to face the Numidium eternal and take the mantle Amaranth. Because weird shit happens in the fifth era.

Ok so if your into the game
Ok so if your into the game for nostalgic reasons or looking for a new experience I would recommend a fresh new save, However if you want to continue your Skyrim character you can probably just COC or add quest ID but still since I used to play Morrowind I would recommend playing with a new save.
Also for laughs you could totally make it lore like by saying your Morrowind player (nerevarine) is on the same magika level of Master Neloth and lived upon Skyrim's timeline only to have gained amnesia and on the path to recall his old life, hense Skywind.... (Also didn't the Nerevarine become immortal, I can't recall since it's been years)
Ok, how about vice versa. Say
Ok, how about vice versa. Say my character started out in Morrowind and then made his way to Skyrim an era later with potions and what-have-you. After all, they did say I tried to cross the border. I know that you start out closer to Cyrodil than Morrowind, but Imperials wouldn't try to execute Stormcloaks in the east which, of course, is swarming with Stormcloaks.
So, another question: Would it be possible to use your Skywind character in Skyrim.
I think I saw a possibility
I think I saw a possibility of an unofficial way to enter Skyrim from Morrowind or vice versa, that was a quest revolving around dwemer time-travel somewhere on the forums, not a clue what happened to it. However again I'm sure there will be a mod created for this purpose post release but until then if you really want to travel between lands either 1) Use the creation editor and add a door/portal between lands or use COC and use your imagination like its a secret spell or time distortion for lore purposes.
Please don't bring up the
Please don't bring up the time traveling elder scroll...
Please.
No I did not I specifically
No I did not I specifically state anything relating to that in particular, all that had been stated was "anyone who wants to travel between lands can either make up their own lore for travel, wait for an unofficial mod or make their own way via creation engine", never did I point out that method. The Elder scroll travel discussion was annoying and should stay unofficial if anything.
More than likely there will NOT be official support for travel, it just won't happen as Skywind is 200 yrs prior to Skyrim, and no lore we know so far will justify travel.
(If an individual wants to cheat from landmass to landmass via COC, have their own portal created in the construction kit, or other methods nobody is going to stop them. Also if said individual decided to create their own lore like "oh I found a dwemmer time machine, or oh this spell by neloth allows me to time travel" that is up to that individual to keep it to themselves and not force their methods on to others. However at most they could release that mod on the forums for people to likewise use, without Skywind main dev support...
Well, you see...
Well, you see...
The dwarf-mer reappear in the 7th era, and Lord Kogranac makes this time machine out of blue and red soul gems (yes, in the 7th era there are multiple colored soul gems). It allows for temporal displacement and Kogrenarc, wanting to fix the timeline, sends the player from the 4th era to the 3rd era, so that the Dragonborn can be a part of the Nerevarine prophecy (or vice versa, depending on which game you start first). It then turns out that Kagernorc is the ultimate bad guy, and once fulfilling both the Dragonborn and Nerevarine prophecies, the player is transported to the dwarfen base in the 7th era. There, the player has to fight through an army of 1001 revived dwarfes and finally fight Lord Kogranac. The player has to tap into the harmonal frequencies of the Heart of Lorkhan and use Wraithguard, Keening, Sunder, and a new fourth artifact acquired from defeating Alduin (the Dragon's Claw) and combine them to make a super awesome weapon. Then, both the player and Lord Kagrenok grow really really big (like, 1000 feet tall) and fight. The player is almost immediately defeated, but then all of the Daedra and Aedra sacrifice their lives to give the player their power, and the player goes super saiyan and kills Kagreoarc. Then the player is trapped in the 7th era and there's a whole new game to explore.
/sarcasm
Not being rude though but I
Not being rude though but I have seen enough of similar threads to this one, and feel that for now since Skywind is in alpha they should be answered with "you can travel unofficialy, but as of now at least and possibly after release it will continue to remain unofficially supported." The devs should not have to think about this until post release.
Example: Fallout New Vegas Project Brazil, I'm certain you cannot legitimately travel between vanilla and Brazil worldspace.
Some Kirkbride quality stuff
Some Kirkbride quality stuff right there, caller.
I don't really see the appeal
I don't really see the appeal of using your Skyrim character in Skywind. Can someone explain?
I don't see the appeal and
I don't see the appeal and won't be caring to ruin immersion, but there are people who can't let their Skyrim built character go. If anyone wants to do it go ahead noone will stop them, but it's kinda up to them to archive travel not rely on the dev's to cater to them.
Yeah, I don't understand why
Yeah, I don't understand why people are so fond of their skyrim characters. Building a character in skyrim didn't feel personal to me. There were barely anything that changed depending on your race or skills or anything. I think it lacked too many RPG elements to feel personal. Your character in skyrim only felt like an empty shell to me.
if i used my skyrim player
if i used my skyrim player (which im not) it would be depressing lol
I can only speak for myself,
I can only speak for myself, but for me it isn't the skills or race that define the character. It is the personality I build for them in my mind, the feelings that character experiences through me. This is vital for me to hold any interest in those characters. Build when I do, I stick with them for ages.
It is something I have managed successfully only a few times in rpgs. Forming that connection is a lot easier said than done. The number of characters I've scrapped far outnumbers the number of characters I've formed a connection to in all the rpgs I've played.
It takes a long time, and is very difficult, for me to get a character that feels just right. I can't just throw a character together on a whim and feel any interest in playing that character.
So you see, because it is so difficult for me to form a connection with a character, and when I do I become extremely attached to that character, that is why I would want to carry a character over.
I can understand that, and
I can understand that, and that's why I made a CK preset of the two characters I got attached to.
But they are nords. And somehow I feel like that doesn't make much sense for the Nerevarine, it is as odd as a dunmer Dohvakiin (but less odd than a dunmer Stormcloak), so I'll try creating a dunmer when Skywind gets released.
Also it is nice to have more
Also it is nice to have more land to explore with a single character. It gives you more freedom and that's the main reason I brought up this question in the first place.
I'm one of the people who grew up with these games, and that especially makes you feel connected to the franchise.
Well, if you're on about
Well, if you're on about roleplaying, you pretty much can't have any connection. Skyrim takes place 200 years after Oblivion. Morrowind takes place like 4 years before Oblivion. It's pretty much impossible for the Nerevarine to have contact with the Dragonborn, even if they are Elves. The Nerevarine doesn't age, that is true, but he's still believed to be in Akavir.
So if you want to defy lore and roleplay that way, sure, go ahead. But that's just kind of cringy in my opinion, breaking lore.

It was a RUMOUR that the Nerevarine was in Akavir. Why is everyone so against people playing both? Let people do what they want. The Nerevarine could easily live 200 years considering he doesn't age.
Personality? Most of the
Personality? Most of the dialogue in skyrim only had 1 alternate choice. Both of them often led to the same result.
I believe the idea of Skywind
I believe the idea of Skywind was to take the same concept of Morroblivion, making it possible to play the original games in the newer engine. Back in early 2012 the idea was that players would use an Elder Scroll that will allow them to go back in time and play as the Nerevarine and Champion of Cyrodiil... Only problem with that is, the games of Morrowind and Oblivion are only a few years apart. It is impossible for the reincarnate to be two people from the past. Unless this idea was changed (most likely because this was from a while ago). Not sure what the idea is now.

That's about as canon as Talos being a fairy lady who wants to save the Argonians from the carnivorous Pandas of Aetherius AKA not at all canon. That is fanfic.

If J. R. R. Tolkien wrote Middle Earth 'fan fiction' it wouldn't be fan fiction, it would be a new book set in the universe of Lord of the Rings.
A company may own the use of The Elder Scrolls, but it was written by humans. And among those humans, the one who took Elder Scrolls from generic fantasy setting to the wonderful philosophically and aesthetically alien world we first saw in Morrowind was Michael Kirkbride. His influence still rings throughout the games.
Hell, we are basing a lot of our assets on his concepts and lore. We take his 'fan fiction' a little more seriously than Sally O'Malley over there who writes about the adventures of Pixie-Dust Talos.
For me, it's like comparing Frank Herbert's Dune books with the ones that came out after he died. They might be set in the same universe, but only Frank Herbert's stuff is any good. I'll take his style and vision over Kevin Anderson's.
There is an error with what
There is an error with what Bethesda states about the time peroids... A lot of people don't realize this...
So, because it is said in Skyrim that Red mountain erupted two hundred years ago. Along with the events of Umbriel (what caused the ministry of truth to fall and make red mountain erupt) is actually four decades (forty years) after the Oblivion crisis, which is stated in both official novels; The Infernal City, and Lord of Souls by Greg Keyes. Following me?
Therefor the events of Oblivion to Skyrim is two-hundred and forty years. Making Skyrim to Morrowind two-hundred and forty-six years apart chronologically. No?
You cannot say there is a time gap and ignore about 16.66% of the time frame.
If Red mountain really did erupt 200 years ago and the Oblivion crisis was 200 years ago. Then why does none of the dialog in the Oblivion mention this on the same year? That does not tie in.

Yeah. Skyrim should be the 240th year of the 4th era, not the 201st.

It may be better than some 12 year old's fanfic, but it isn't canon. And you were saying it as if it was 100% factual and canon. But it's not.
It isn't neccisarily canon,
It isn't necessarily canon, but a significant portion of what MK writes is implemented into the official canon by Bethesda. For example, the offerings of livestock, painted in swirl patterns, to giants, or the idea of the Godhead's dream. What becomes of MK's C0DA is unknown as of now, but it may well be canon down the line.

As an end to the thread, people who really need to use there Skyrim character will more than likely be able to coc (command) to morrowind's slave boat cell Id, and possibly add the first quest. The thread should no longer need any extra debate as this will be discussed upon release. Only commands and or mods will allow travel as there is no point to officially allow travel.
Don't bug the dev's on this issue unless your willing to contribute a travel mod or method yourself. I would recommend closing the thread.

it's not that it was true or not (which it is), you are just not allowed to talk about lore on the site because people don't like that here. Join Tamriel rebuilt, that's what I did. Anyways as for this topic I am surprised many argue no when in Morroblivion you could play as hero of Cyrodiil and the Nerevarine despite the fact the NPCs have talked about the Nerevarine where about. This is starting to become a paradox... xD Lose Karma for talking about lore, but they won't agree with making people playing with the same character in Skywind unless its lore. I don't get the karma system, honestly. For several months there was a guy down-voting everything I posted... Everything. But yeah, no official support for dragging and dropping your character, though it will be the first thing someone mods on the side as an optional thing. The very first thing. Guaranteed.

You still don't get it do you, know one on the Skywind team is against the idea, of a transport mods between worlds. The point is It will simply not be included in the main project, and that's all.
