Since they're coastal... You

Since they're coastal... You could go Telvanni and try big insect wings too :P Or just leave the eyeholes dark, it looked really good before (and would look like that if fabric was mounted from inside).

Yeah, I think just having

Yeah, I think just having them black would work just fine and wouldn't require much work. If you REALLY wanted to do something more than just a dark eye hole, you could add a slight reflection in the dark eyes to give it a bit of depth. Almost like the Nightingale Armor from Skyrim.

That would make it an easy task for you, and would still look good!

Armour finished, ingame.

Armour finished, ingame.
eXec mentioned the need for more colour variation, i agree, so i'll play with the diffuse during beta.

Tbh I'm not overly happy with the finished armour as much as I thought I would, but it'll do, its a rare armour anyway, not to everyones tastes. And it looks like predator.

Coming up: Dreugh Weapons

Shield
Axe
Staff/Spear
Slaver Whip.

The model still looks great,

The model still looks great, but you're right in how it seems a bit monochromatic and even a little faded. A bit more contrast would go a long way of making the textures look crisper and accentuate the details of the armor. Nothing that wasn't done before for the Ebony set :)

Man, I'm loving this!!!

Man, I'm loving this!!!

Something to consider (and it probably already has been)... It's been a while since I've seen your finished dreugh creature model, but a simple way to add some color would be to consider the underside of the dreugh. Your model may or may not have this but, in many marine creatures, the underside of the creature is a lighter color while the dorsal/top is a darker color. This is because other critters below the creature look up and can't make out the creature's underside against the brightness of the surface light, while other critters above the creature look down and can't make out the creature against the darkness of the gloomy depths.

So if you look at it that way, the pieces that have come from the dreugh's underside could maybe be a brown or yellowish color. Granted, this may not work. I remember that you built the dreugh and literally dissected it to compile the armor (great idea - it's definitely worked). I can't remember if your dreugh armor has that color variation, but it's something you could apply especially the armor.

Another idea would be to simply show that perhaps during the "drying" process certain parts of the dreugh chitin changes colors. Or that the dreugh wax causes some color variation once the shell pieces have dried in the sun.

A third (and my final) idea would be to add some tribal stripes/lines on it to simply break it up. Just thinking about the multitude of Dunmer facial tattoos, these could possibly be added to the armor in some degree. In particular I'm thinking of the thick, curved, broken (dashed) lines that arc around their faces.

definately right about some

definately right about some markings/war paint, will try that. keep bugging me so i dont forget, focusing on toher things atm.

heres the whip.

Asked Eham about how it worked.
A seperate model of a straightened tentacle whip is spawned from where the sword blade would be, and it uses some physics to simulate a stretching whip. Meanwhile the whip cylinder curled up has its alpha multiplied and dissappears.

Hey presto, dreugh slaver whip!

@Ravanna - I actually work in

@Ravanna - I actually work in quality control and project management professionally, so reminding you shouldn't be a problem. :) REMINDER: DUNMER-ISH MARKINGS ON THE DREUGH ARMOR TO SHAKE UP THE MONOTONOUS COLOR-SCHEME.

Dude, I have to say, on a professional level (not just personal) your work is outstanding. It simply oozes quality. This goes for many of the others here -- if I was a recruiter or recruiting in the video game industry, I'd hire you in a minute. I'm not sure if working on Skywind is just a hobby, a portfolio-building exercise, or something else, but damn, you should consider this professionally.

If you or anyone else need help using your Skywind work to build a portfolio, please feel free to PM me.

(Sorry for the rantish praise, I had to get that out of my system!)

*showers in praise* ;)

*showers in praise* ;)

ok dreugh spear.

I ran out of energy.
Its made of twisted grown bone, its huge, so it has to be cut shorter for a dunmer to use.

Thegentlemancaller isn't

Thegentlemancaller isn't lying; your art is gorgeous! However, one thing I noticed is that all of the actual whips I've seen have a sort of tuft at the end, like in this picture:

I couldn't find much information about this in a few minutes of searching, and I don't know if it's very important or even if Morrowind whips are supposed to be designed like that. But it's something to consider.

EDIT: A little research looks like they might just be for making the characteristic sound, which slavers probably wouldn't need. I'm going to check this...

EDIT 2: Another source says that it is to leave a larger mark that causes greater pain (which would be definitely useful to slavers).

EDIT 3: So while this likely has a practical purpose it seems to not be very necessary, so I don't think it's really worth changing the whip over. Probably ignore this post.

I will also ask EHam any chance that the whip attack damage could disarm low level opponents.

IF I was a slaver I'd use a Cat'O'Nine Tails like this, make it really hurt.

That type of whip would be used generally for flogging purposes so I wouldn't use it out of disciplinary action...Rav longer whip would most likely would be used to keep slaves in line like cattle due to its long range and iconic sound.
