What mods do you use with Morroblivion? lists

Submitted by illspecko on

I thought I should share with you some non-morroblivion mods that I use, to heighten the morrowind feel.

Dunmer ears - This mod changes the ears to those long bent ears that we know and love. It's OMOD, and is totally compatible.

Dunmer eyes without Iris - This mod changes those ugly hobo/cocaineaddict eyes from vanilla oblivion into more Morrowind-esque red eyes. This might not be for everyone, but I tried it for some time, and now I won't change back. There is a option to have total black eyes too which I haven't tried at all, to nonlore.

Better Redguards - Just a essential improvement from the vanilla texture.

Retextured orc pack - This is also not for everyone, but it changes the crazy green skin of the orcs to a more "realistic" brown-green tone. Not very lore, but worth checking out.

I use deadly Reflex 5 too, which seems to work fine with me. There might be balancing issues, but not that I have experienced.

It's a pre-oblivon thing ;) On hair styles, the oblivion modding community really dropped the ball on that one. With Morrowind, there where hundreds of new hair styles, but in oblivion, meh, some asian/fashion model mods, and none for male character.

Of course, if anyone can point me to a hairstyelmod worth the trouble, please do. In the meantime, I'm going with the tincan style.

I miss the fantastic face texture mods for Morrowind by the likes of Korana and Emma. Is there anything that can simulate these for Oblivion? I guess not, given that Oblivion uses a single head mesh with a default texture for each race, whereas Morrowind mods had a range facegen-type head textures and meshes for each race.

I use the "Natural faces mod" which really improves the face texture. Those screenshots doesn't at all describe the difference. I highly recommend it!

Natural faces is great, but nothing comes close to the gorgeousness of the modded NPC face textures for Morrowind:

I can recommend TNR for vastly improving the vanilla NPC's in Oblivion btw

I totally agree, Morrowind had an amazing variety of hair/faces. Using GIMP (and maybe some work in Blender but I'm not very good at all with Blender so it was mostly with GIMP and head-meshes forged by others ) I created my own unmistakable dang-near true to life face and plopped it on the Nerevarine. Heh. Not to mention all the other folks I translated to Tamriel as NPCs or as private Mods for friends of their own faces. You could do that in Morrowind. Now, using a $300 piece of software to model one's face you still can't get it into Oblivion in a fully recognizable way. Don't get me wrong, I love the sliders...I just wish we could more easily alter the meshes to suit variously shaped faces/heads...Oh well...

oh, and on ths subject of Morroblivion mods...has anyone used:

It almost certainly conflicts with DarNified UI...so I'm wondering has anyone used it? Is it worth the leap?

The only thing I need for enjoying playing Morroblivion as much as I did Morrowind is a place to stay and some cool clothes that I like.

I do not have an awful lot of mods running. The only plugins I use other than Oblivion, and the Morroblivion ones, are some that I made myself to accomodate different needs, like housing, like clothes..

That purple outfit is GORGEOUS!  Does that exist in the baseline game, or did a mod add that (no spoilers, please, I'm new to Morrowind :) )?
