Dang, looks amazing. Can I

Dang, looks amazing. Can I ask though: will the metal be that shiny in-game? I don't remember anything from Skyrim looking that shiny, but there could be a "shine" setting/map/etc that I don't know about. Curious, that's all.

maybe this has been answered already but what is the purpose of that belt that hangs on the shoulder? its not attached to anything like a bag or weapon, are you adding more to this armor?

Never noticed that. Maybe it's to fasten the hood or outer piece of the robe in place?

That belt thing holding around the shoulder is actually for holding bottles of health, mana, which will be added separately etc etc...

Also the shiny pieces, they have gloss map, Aaand skyrim doesn't have that gloss map i think :P So, these guys will have to figure it out...

If the purple is such a big

If the purple is such a big deal just make 2 versions or something so we can all stop fighting, i dont care about the color, i just want it to be good.

The model looks fantastic, as

My only criticism is also about the metal. It looks like silver rather than steel, although that may be something we wish to drive in the imperial pieces to give them a more "royal" feel, as opposed to the native, ashen Morrowind armors.

The model looks fantastic, as do these schemes;

Perhaps u should make color

Perhaps u should make color variants of all of the armorsto satisfy everyone's preference. Skyrim had that whether it was the same named armor but different color or slightly different name. Imperial Battlemage/ Imperial Wizard/ Imperial Mage.

I agree. Besides it would be way cooler to find different colored sets than just one set.

Even if that would be cool i

Even if that would be cool i am sure he has better things to do than making a set of color for everyone. Especially if peaple argue about each color set as much as they did with the actual one.

The fact there has been more

The fact there has been more arguments over the colour scheme than the model speaks for itself.

If this discussion is still happening months after the initial idea was pitched there is enough evidence to suggest the current colour pattern should be revised.

I have not been an active

I have not been an active member of tesrenewal but I have been following this thread since it first began, and I cannot understand what the big fuss is about. Personally I like the purple version, but why not incorporate red into a trim on the cloth, or add a red design to the cloth. A red and gold trim would look fantastic. All I am saying is, why not just add both colors to the cloth. It would look pretty cool in my opinion and it would make everyone happy.

Also I know one of his earlier designs had both colors but they were different cloth peices.

Hi, I just finished reading
Hi, I just finished reading this thread and I really like what you have done with the armour. Personally I like the colours also and like others have mentioned it is easy enough to recolour them if they are not to your liking. The good thing about the Skyrim engine is you can easily create texture sets so it's not even as if meshes would need to be distributed just the textures. cheers Pen

Hey, I have a lore-supported

I have a lore-supported suggestion regarding the battlemage armor (unrelated to color), that it would be made into Spellsword armor instead. Battlemages in the legion are a part of the secretive and elite Shadow Legion, while Spellswords serve as more common auxiliaries within other legions. "Spellswords are spellcasting specialists trained to support Imperial troops in skirmish and in battle."  -Morrowind class description

Text in Morrowind refrences Legion Spellsword auxiliaries, although none are seen ingame. Using the armor for Spellswords instead would resolve discrepancy between lore text and ingame representation, while simultaneously making the aptly named Shadow Legion more of an elite "spec ops" division of the Imperial Legions rather than common support.

Hi, I noticed that the heavy

Hi, I noticed that the heavy helmet looks like a helmet from the game Dragon Age: Inquisition

In my opinion it would be better to instead look like a helmet from the movie Underworld Rise of the Lycans.

What do you say????

I like that helmet from

I like that helmet from Underworld; it almost looks more Elvish than Imperial, though!

Hey guys, guess who's back !

Hey guys, guess who's back ! :D Damn right !

So I have news for you ! I am now finishing up the Imperial set for sure. It's been a while since I did something. Also I heard that new concepts of the Imperial are ariving.. can't wait to see them. I hope there's not much to change !

So here am I changing some of the topology of the battlemage :)
Right one is the new better topology of the robe :) I hope you like it. There are a few more things to fix so catch you later ;)

EDIT: Info about the different: The thing is I combined both the shirt and the coat into one. So it's basically half polygons less i guess... and I hope the bake works out well

I think the model looks great

I think the model looks great, I will not bring up the Color because I can tell that is annoying you guys but I think the battle mage need not have so much metal on it. I like it, it really does look sharp with the metal, but it doesn't suit a mage. The concept shows leather.

What happened to this model for the legs?

http://i.gyazo.com/c65376db8839eadf229cba424f3c78fb.png

IMO that looks way better for a mage, and it matches the concept art perfectly.

Just my opinion. :D

Hey guys :D Sorry for no

Hey guys :D Sorry for no update lately !

I've had ups and downs throughout the time, but I'm back and I want to finish this set for real :)

So here's an updated version of the battlemage topology. It's final I've dropped 19k tris to 14k which is fair enough so far :D
Moving onto baking ^_^
(And yes I'm going to bring back the old collors :) Black & Purple and ther's no change !!! )

Wow, just now seeing this

Wow, just now seeing this topic and those mage robes look absolutely amazing!

I don't know if we're still voting on color or not (not sure which "old colors" are being referred to), but for the record, my vote is this one...

Sasquatch wrote:

Having two variants might actually be cool for variety in the game. I'm going to tweak the colors too (just a bit), to say this...

(Basically, I just desaturated the hood some, it looked a little too yellow for the overall design before)

Nice! Great to see this

Nice! Great to see this getting done! Also, not sure how on topic it is in terms of the actual model development (I think it is perfect as it is), but any chance it could be referred to as Legion Spellsword armor ingame? I think they would be more likely to come across than the Shadow Legion, serving as spell casting support troops integrated into the ranks of the legion already deployed in Morrowind (as referenced in ingame text). I'm not sure the Shadow Legion would need to be deployed into Vvardenfell at the time of Skywind, and that would help with their secrecy and elite status.

I like it especially mage: it look battle ready but not too armored like it was in Oblivion.

I wish it will be in game.
