We need ruins anyway.

It is a bit inconsistent that dwemer have a lot of remains but chimeri/velothi only some towers and several ruins. Maybe we should fix it and create it more depicted. I don't think it needs additional assets and it is very lore friendly.

Near number one we have some ruins already, near 3 too and in number 2 we have a lot of free space. It could be underwater or just over surface, claimed by vegetation or covered by dunes.
It would be good as additional place to wandering. Place with some story like Pompey. We had accident like "Sun's Death" and the "Year of Winter in Summer" Sth like archeological site. I really liked this stuff like in Fallout where each post apocalyptic place had some own unique story.

That would be nice to see,
[External image]That would be nice to see, perhaps there could be an exposed part of a hill that shows layers of old ash somewhere, with an excavation tunnel dug through. There could also be some of those ruins just barely poking out of the muck and scum of the Bitter Coast. I'd also maybe like to see one of the strongholds be a bit more uncovered than the others, where the structure continues into a canton shape, with some small ruined buildings around it. That would probably be in an 'ash cave' though, and very narrow and unstable, with just parts of the ruins poking out of the ash walls. It cold look sort of like a sand cave, only with ash instead, and the ash dune assets used all over the floor. Ash could sprinkle down from the ceiling to make it feel more like an unstable pocket of piled up ash.

Also, some stronghold lore from Gary Noonan (Wormgod):
"Best Westerns. The were basically fortified stronghold/checkpoint/hotels for travelers. There are no records of any of the strongholds ever being held under siege or used in any battles/wars, but it is quite possible that they were used for warriors as layover posts while travelling."
I could see them as being a point of shelter and temporary settlement to protect against ashstorms, 'fallout shelters' for Red Mountain eruptions and storms, as well as serving the dual purpose of a resting point/settlement.
