MOST CURRENT VERSIONS ARE ON GOOGLE DRIVE: CONCEPT ART BACKUPS

EDITED (Changed last two)

I've done some murals for request. This is my work. Discoccult will do some too (I suppose) and maybe hieronymuz. It's better to keep everything in one place.

Kagrenac, Dumac, Yagrum

Nord invasion

Why nords are naked or half-naked? I assumed that they (dwemer) treat themselves as much superior and more civilized race and they have to show that in some way.

First council. Guys on the left more static and dignified. On the right more vivid and "gesture". The same reason like previous one.

Discover of heart of lorkhan

Aedric planets

Chimeri and dwemer battle

I didn't add text on sketches because I wanted to keep it clean enough. But I imagine it as sth really background (good place to approve oneself some writers. Sth similar to Assyrian. I mean text on sculpt.

Dwemer font u can find here.

Each one need some text (except first one) but it could be just xkhdhdfhsfhsdhdsf blah blah trololo or our credits :P

Materials: granite, bronze polished/rusty

Those look amazing! Pretty

Those look amazing! Pretty awesome work!

Amazing dude, you have truly

Amazing dude, you have truly captured a staggering amount of the Morrowind Dwemer Culture, serious awesome job!

Very nice job on murals, this

Very nice job on murals, this add new feel of in-game history! Can't wait to see all this stuff in game [External image]

Amazing! I have a slight

Amazing! I have a slight issue with Yagrum Bagrum though... I doubt they would honor him when he had corpus, as it is highly contangeous.

These are some of your best

These are some of your best mural/graffiti work by far. Love it!

Damn X) it's USSR

Damn X) it's USSR architecture style. For example it pharmacy relief near my house

I really like what youve done

I really like what youve done with these! the only issue I have is with the aedric planets mural. The stars youve used really dont fit in with the mural style or with any of the other murals.

I think the 5 pointed star is too obvious a choice and frankly too much modern pop culture symbol.

[External image]

Maybe something like this?

also worth trying out other variations like 4 pointed, or just lines...

Very good work.

It looks like USSR mosaics especially with planets. Look that's USSR heart of Lorkhan

@Yours Truly

In my version, he is simply fat as in MW was ;) I just assumed that he needed some help with movement. He could have legs under tunic. Look at his skin, it is too clean for corpus.

@Wertyn

I always felt that dwemers are commies deep inside their hearts :P (heavy industry, monumental architecture, etc.)

@ElderNick Thanks for the tip. Looks much better.

@Mo...Great ref. If u can search as good examples like that u can post a few right here.

We can just add leftovers of polychromatic paint (colors similar to this above) It would be great effect with paint with different value of specular map.

I hope that in Nord invasionn and First council will more detailed muscles and faces. I probably do two, three more.

@Rest Thanks for feedback

BTW. If someone is willing to write some text for them it would be cool too.

~the text areas could be

~the text areas could be taken from stories found in morrowind books

Are the three on Kagrenac,

Are the three on Kagrenac, Dumac, and Yagrum separate? It would be easier to write for them if they were.

Love the concept and idea!

@Yours Truly It could be. It

@Yours Truly It could be. It's good thing to milking assets without effort, instead of 1 we have 4.

First realm (deadlands good known from Oblivion)

The Deadlands are a Daedric realm of Oblivion created and ruled over by the Daedric Prince of Destruction, Mehrunes Dagon. The embodiment of its creator's sphere, the dimension is fraught with natural disasters and destructive change. The realm is covered by an ocean of lava, scattered with scorched volcanic islands and ruined structures. Many lesser Daedra roam the realm freely, but Dremora dominate the hierarchy. Very little flora grow in the realm's hostile environment

Added white to more clear up. It's more time consuming than I thought but it is always when do you need find out new style, later is piece of cake.

We honor the High Craftlord

We honor the High Craftlord and High Priest of our great and powerful people.

We honor the king and father of our great and noble people.

We honor the Mater Craftsman and scribe of our great and wise people.

-a thought on writing since you asked for writers. If you wish, I will happily write for the others.

Also thoughts on Dunmer

Also thoughts on Dunmer graffiti. The translation is, "Stay lost, stay forgotten."

@Mway1

Hey Lukkar I thought the Dwemer despised the Daedra,

Yeap but they were traveling between them. It's sth like picture from vacations

also here is the Dwemer interpretation of the...

Oh... I didn't know that. It should be redone then. I understand that u are sure about that.

@Yours Truly

Text is cool but dwemers were very collective (I think). It's better describing their deeds than them selfs. "He/she do/creates sth which is blabla what brings our people blabla.. etc." Btw. modelers will decide where they fit finally. You can write to all if u want. Btw. it should be a longer text.

And about graffiti this is sth which could be added at the end (as separate asset) and landscaper will decide what and where to add.

Gotcha, the only reason those

Gotcha, the only reason those were so short was that these had to be made before or during the war, meaning our knowledge of the deeds of those three are very limited. The others will have much longer descriptions.

this is something else entirely

@Mway1

Now I see it is needed the whole cosmo too.

@blab423

Yoloyolo

@discoccult

If u want there is a lot of content u can do but if u want it or not u have to use my style (I mean about relief)

War of the Crag, Aetherium Wars, or about guys like Bthuand Mzahnch, Nchunak and of course uncountable amount of realms. Additional things which where mentioned u already know. And of course some ordinary live scenes too.

@Yours Truly

As u wish. Anyway text will be more as texture as sth actually informative thing. I assume that not many players are fluent in dwemerish :P

Clavicus Vile's realm

Clavicus Vile's Realm is a realm of Oblivion, created and ruled over by Clavicus Vile, the Daedric Prince of Wishes. It appears as a tranquil countryside, dotted with majestic cities of glass and ornate buildings

Ashpit

The realm mostly consists only of dust, palaces of smoke, and vaporous creatures; anguish, betrayal, and broken promises like ash fill the bitter air. Few mortals manage to reach the realm, where levitation and magical breathing are necessary to survive.

Moonshadow

Moonshadow is a realm of Oblivion, created and ruled over by Azura, the Daedric Prince of Twilight. The realm is so beautiful that visiting mortals are half-blinded. The realm contains flowers and waterfalls, majestic trees, and a city of silver. The wind smells of perfume, and the realm is known to have rain. Azura lives in a rose palace, and is welcoming to mortal travelers.

@discoccult

Ohh and there are a few refs which could be useful for u

and bonus :P

@Mway

Yeah Lukkar :) It's just that from a Dwemer perspective Nirn is at the center and the Sun (Magnus) is on the edge of the system.

I edited planets system

Lukkar can you make a variation of this? :) I call it Exodus

Sure, but this is last one ;)

---------------------------

I've done whole dwemer world. Not a mural but working system. It could be in Dagoth Ur Inner Tower. The whole facility will be redesign anyway. Good for floor.

And how it works

Everything is moving after activate some trigger (lever whatever). It would be quite nice visually. Those lines which u see could be light up with acid blue or some other color.

Now looking for someone which is willing to do that :)

One, or a few of these should

One, or a few of these should be modelled like Alduin's wall and carved in stone. It would be a shame to have this only be represented in tapestry.

It would be cool to have that

It would be cool to have that floor animated and put in a dwemer ruin.

@Tajnarasha

I thought It could be done only in hard materials like metal/stone. Tapestry is quite not dwemerish. But all one by one in one place somewhere would be cool (maybe with animate floor too)

@smerk

I was just jealous what in Oblivion they did http://youtu.be/io5f6aZinCQ?t=35s Btw. it needs a lot of space. This little dude in upper right corner is added to feel the space.

we're gonna start these very

we're gonna start these very soon.

Sorry for late reply. I've found some USSR mosaics for you. Some of them are very close to Dwemer culture. Hope this will be helpful for you.

Keep up the good work!

Keep up the good work! [External image]

@Mo...

Ohh, thanks. I really like them. But some of them are really mysterious to me like this one :P Unfortunately I will be too busy to do more.

I think this is some like

I think this is some like religion/superstitious eradication process by lamp of knowledge.
It can be good motive for dwemers too. They are not seem very religious.

(No subject)

I imagined these murals as

I imagined these murals as embossed

I suggest to use lines on my

I suggest to use lines on my concept as convex contour. Then especially when it gets side light will add really cool shadows. (it was about character)

----------------------------

Second thing is that you can set some 5-8 levels of heights convexity and manipulate them to add some depth into character. For example in the place of inner character's stomach set lower level than for example in the place of chest. U can do also can make ascending tunic when you are going lower with the highest point in the end. Than dude looks much heavier and dynamic.

----------------------------

Maybe the most outlaying contour (with the text) should have more sticking out base compare to the scene. Then scene gets some cool shadows too.

I'm glad it is going forward.

P.s: I know it is much more work.

Very good murals, but I agree

Very good murals, but I agree with the Yours Truly that Yagrum Bagarn would not have been in a Dwemer mural. I know you answered back in August that you picture him as always being fat, but Yagrum himself complains about his 'grotesque form' when you ask him in Morrowind about "Gracious Keeper:" "I owe my life to Lord Fyr. He took me in when I was a mad monster, out of my mind. In time, I emerged from my dementia, and now I am quite lucid most of the time, though my body is still a grotesque and useless prison"

Also, Yagrum was not an especially notable person back in the days of the Dwemer. He also tells you this himself if you ask about "My Race:" "Once I was a Master Crafter in the service of Lord Kagrenac, chief architect of the great Second Empire freeholds, and the greatest enchanter of his time. I could not match the genius of Lord Kagrenac, but what he could envision, I and my colleagues could build."

So even if he was a fat dwarf on a spider back in the day, he certainly wasn't someone to be depicted alongside Kagrenac and Dumac. So having him in the mural would be like having a commemorative iPhone cover with a picture of Steve Jobs above the photo of one of the random engineers who actually built it.

Still, the drawing of Yagrum is amazing and it would be great to find a lore-friendly use for it.

Best regards,

Jessica

Meh.. I just see.

Is any third person which I can replace Yagrum Bagarn? I just asking for composition reason.

How about Bthuand Mzahnch? He

How about Bthuand Mzahnch? He was also a Tonal Architect like Kagrenac, and Bthuand historically argued for harnessing the power of Lorkhan's Heart. He's also the author of the book "The Egg of Time", so its safe to say that he was a relatively known and important figure at that time. He could make for a third mural character?

Plus, he's one of the few named Dwemer in Elder Scrolls lore, so its either him, the Dwemer ghost who helps the player forge Trueflame in Tribunal (who was only a soldier, if memory serves), or someone that you have to invent yourself:)
