Wanted to start this thread so i can upload my progress on making the Ashlander Tent Interiors. I seen they were claimed at first but then dropped so i asked Eloth if it was okay to take up the task and now i'll reclaim it.
This is just a few hours worth of a rough draft at first but i just wanted something to show you guys.

I'm still doing the tent skeleton, this is in_ashl_tent_01 btw.
You need an opening at the top to vent smoke, and keep the supports only at the far walls. Also, as it was mentioned in the lore, Ashlanders use what is readily available as building materials. The leather is fine (guar, kagouti, etc) but they would likely be using chitin from Silt Strider legs as support poles instead of wood, where they live.

The support in the middle is based off the original model. As for the opening in the roof that seems like an interesting idea but i'll have to see about the Exteriors of the tents and who's doing them.
I drew up a quick concept, with support poles made from Silt Strider legs, and two layers of leather for better ash resistance. I don't think exteriors ever got done anyway, so we have a bit of freedom here I believe.

Thats great Dragonmir, yeah i asked Eloth if i could do the exteriors as well, so they're will be a bit more freedom.
idk. Silt strider's legs should be really rare material.
Taerkalith explained it well. Silt strider chitin would probably be unbelievably resilient and be representative of centuries worth of silt-strider harvests.
Strider legs are rare, but wood is even more.
There will be wild striders in Skywind. And if we scaled it up to be its actual, realistic size, there'd be enough room for as many Silt Striders as we want. Also there's not enough clay in this world to build Vivec, but we assume that in reality the clay deposits would be big enough.
If you guys have any concept art/ ideas for these tents it would really be appreciated.
Im using the Silt Strider front legs as the main support for the tent and the rest would just be logs and sticks n stuff.
nice start

there is no sin to make it wider/bigger than in original game and more adequate to actual size of striger's full legs
even ancient yurts and wigwams was bigger than that - ppl need some place to live.
I think it's so long because it's gonna be sticked deep into the ground. The wire mesh plain seems to be ground here. And we need to keep it more or less Morrowind size, because it might make it difficult to rearrange. And no, ancient tents and yurt - homes were mostly rather small.
No need to use full size Strider legs, since we will have young striders anyway. I'd probably save the full length legs for the joined tents of ashkhan and his gulakhans.
That thing in the middle.
