[RELZ] Morroblivion Misc Items Replacer

Submitted by eloth on

A little surprise for you all :)

this replacer replaces alchemy gear/apparatuses, potion bottles, skooma bottles, nearly

all misc items, chests, barrels, urns, skulls, skulls on sticks, bellows, forges, cobwebs, etc

this is also a part of the Visual Overhaul project.

It is still not 100% complete, and it may not suit everyones taste, but with some help

from you i can improve it further.

next version will also replace all weapons, ingedients, flora, and trees

Thank You Eloth! This will take a little conversion work to make compatible with my Master. I am inclined to just include this as part of the Master, but the size makes me think twice about that. However, I think, that because this is not a straight replacer, but requires a mod, that it should be included as part of the Master so there a no conflicts now or in the future. Does anybody else have any thoughts?

This one does not seem to require a master at all (besides Oblivion.esm). After a really quick edit in TES4 Edit, adding the Morrowind_ob.esm as a master file, it works just fine, since the objects id's are the same, the original ones are replaced by the improved versions.

I think the file size is not a problem at all, if you consider the overall amount of data alread required to install Morroblivion (and with Eloth's Overhaul already being a must-have, it grows even larger).

Just in case, if you want to test it for yourself, here's a compatible .esp

http://www.mediafire.com/?fsebcecakmdt05y

I don't mean to be inconvenient, I'm providing the alterated file for debugging purposes. As I said, implementing eloth's master vegetation replacement would be simple to do in a optional .esp, following the same procedure.

Very nice work, Eloth. Thank you for fulfilling our dreams. :)

I have already made a cleaned version of this file and sent it to Eloth for review. You also have to update the scripts on some of the items; that's what I meant about compatible. I will probably include this in the master, then have the resources as their own separate download.

I see. :)

It's a good solution. Wouldn't you consider making a omod conversion script for the whole install as a good way to avoid issues and conflicts? One would be able to pick the files to be installed, and it would be easier to remove the content to mess with the .esp converter.

Let's not talk about OMOD on Eloth's Item Thread.

anyone tested this yet? and come up with some feedback?

I really like it. Maybe the flasks are a little too shiny when there aren't so many lights to reflect, but I'm not sure about it. Im sticking with this mod! :D

me too came to that conclusion, so im going to calm down the shininess

I'm not sure if its just me but is anyone else having a problem with the misc items replacer where instead of replacing certain items (mainly the bottles) it adds a second copy of them to the leveled lists?

I'm just having a problem getting the replacers to work, the bottles are vanilla not the ones shown in the screenshot.

The "ESP" that Eloth included, as he said, is not fully compatible in it's current state. If you try to use it as-is, then yes, all you will get is duplicate items added to some of the random lists. I am going to include it in the next version of the Master.

Thank you, i guess i missed that one david.

...no seriously, that looks awesome. Really looking forward to your next release =)

These are awesome! Nice work eloth!

I like the half-solid, half-transparent structure of the potions! That is creative!

What about helpful person's weapon overhaul? Or are you just retexturing the weapons he didn't do?

And the trees! Yes please Eloth!

There is a problem with the new version:

It depends on Morrowind_ob.esm, Bloodmoon_ob.esm and Tribunal_ob.esm but the last two files doesn't even exist for me and probably the other people... Could you please redo the .esp file for this great expansion?

Same problem with the soulgem replacer. It made my game crash fifty times before I realized what it was.

In this mod Eloth switched Oblivion Apparatis for Morrowind Apparatis rather than replacing the objects themselves. I personally do not think Oblivion Apparatis are all that great, and do not particularly care for switching Morrowind objects for Oblivion objects, but I probably have some strange tastes. Eloth obviously spent a great deal of time meticulously repositioning all the Oblivion object references, but in this case I really wish he hadn't. What does everybody else think? Please give me some feedback.

I much prefer having two seperate versions.

I'm personally an old-school Morrowind guy, but before I jump to any conclusions, where's the .esp that is cleaned up, so I can test it out?

I didn't understand you David.

Are you trying to tell this patch affects Oblivion items too? If then I think it's better if Oblivion and Morroblivion has different items.

However If it is needed especially for furnitures, I wouldn't also care much as long as I can play the great overhaul eloth has already provided.

I dont know why the bloody CS does this, i only selected oblivion.esm, morrowind_ob.esm and my mod when

i started out. :(

both bloodmoon and tribunal esm`s can safely be deleted from the esp

this mod replaces much morrowind stuff with oblivion stuff(apparatuses, skulls, flora), and is

highly defendable from my point of view, when it comes to upgrading the look of morroblivion.

And oblivion apparatuses aint going to ruin the morrowind experience, come on.

@eloth

Yeah, I was just about to say that switching the MW apparatus's with OB ones shouldn't be that big of a deal. To compare, I would think swapping MW daedric armor for OB daedric armor would be way more drastic. I would think the MW and OB apparatus look pretty close, to where the unsuspecting eye wouldn't even notice.

But like I said, I would like to test it out before I make any judgements. How do I clean your esp up with TES4EDIT? I have it, but I don't know how to take those incorrect dependencies off?

thats the problem i also have, how to take the unwanted dependencies off.

i have to read some tutorials :P

try this file:

this is hopefully a cleaned esp, i did it with TesSnip

although the dependency is now only on Morrowind and Oblivion esm, I still can't launch with the new .esp

I am still experiencing the violett textrues on barrels and I can't open any of the replaced chests like the one in the census office at the start

I have completely Merged Eloth's Miscellaneous and Ingreditnt Replacers into v029. Please do not use his ESP as it now conflicts with the Master.

I was not using his esp with the last four shots

I'm having a lot if issues with the chests not being openable. One specific chest I can point you to is the supply chest in the Balmora guild of mages, but it seems that almost all chests of that style have this problem, as well as the ones typically called 'small chest'

[a note to players: you can work around this by opening the console, selecting the container, and typing 'activate player']

Edit: I'm having a similar problem with many potion bottles. Hovering over them does not cause the name to appear or the hand curser. Specifically cheap, standard, and quality bottles from what I can tell.

I cannot be sure as I haven't downloaded this replacer, but it sounds as if the problem is a lack of havok on the un-selectable items. Having experienced this problem in a different instance, I am fairly certain this is what it is. Sometimes when items from morrowind are converted using the converter, it fails to make proper havok. Usually a re-conversion solves the issue but in other cases not. Either that or havok was never created for the item when they were made for oblivion.

Edit: I have downloaded the misc items replacer and many of the files mentioned do indeed lack havok, so this is most likely the problem.

i have fixed the barrel rings, and missing potion bottle textures, and fixed the issue with not being able

to open barrels, baskets, chests etc.

thx

I will post later if it worked out well!

EDIT:

still found some missing textures/ havoc problems:

The back of the Hlaalu Guard shield is my fault, not eloth. You can snag that here, just put it into your textures folder:

I already knew, that this doesn't belong to eloth's work.
I just put up a link with all the pics I made...
Should the bucket be pickable?

this makes bread pickable and eatable, potion bottles pickable and drinkable

Nice Eloth! Looking good!

Even after downloading and installing (and reinstalling) the newest version I am still have the problem with the bread and such not allowing you to pick them up. Any idea what i'm doing wrong?

Please be Very Specific. Bread does not have havok like it should, but what do you mean by "and such?" For Eloth to fix these he needs to know what to fix. Please use the download link on the main thread. http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/mods/753 It includes ingredients and the updated meshes that Eloth has already fixed.

ah, the one on the release thread works, thanks.

Is this merged with the master install these days?  Just wondering if I need to install it or not...

Thanks in advance for the info! :)
