Good evening or afternoon, wherever you may be. Perhaps even a good morning.
I am J.D. Postma, from the Netherlands and I must say I am truly impressed with the progress of Skywind. Everytime I watch a dev video I choke up and remember playing good old Morrowind for the very first time. By saying that, I think you are surely doing it right. I rarely like remakes or reboots as I am picky like every other Morrowind nerd, but Skywind may count itself amongst the few exceptions that I know. I know this is coming off pretty "fanboyish", as I have not yet had the chance to play the game, but I've watched all the videos and concept art many times now and I think one is allowed and able to make a fair opinion of the game itself out of those.
That being said, I have a suggestion concerning Ebony and Daedric armor. Let me start with what has been bugging me about Skyrim. In Morrowind there were a few full suits of ebony armor to be found, but there was only one full daedric suit of armor to found and it was spread all over. I'd say it was fairly balanced. No mortal, not even the Nerevarine should be running around the game world shortly, accidently stumble upon a rich ebony mine, grind the smithing skill and create a full daedric suit just a hour later. In Oblivion it was even worse. All you had to do was level and eventually every marauder would be running around in daedric armor, which was ridiculous.
My suggestion therefore is: The smithing skill should not be a nightmare to level. However, crafting daedric armor should be an epic undertaking by itself. First of all, the player should not be able to craft these items at a mundane smithing forge. No, there should only be one forge where you can forge such profane items and it should be hidden really well and really deep inside something. In addition the player should be making sacrifices. I'm talking about capturing the souls of people who hold you in high regard in a black soulgem, which should be needed in addition to the daedric heart that Skyrim demanded for creating daedric armor.
And perhaps the art of daedric crafting should be thought to the player instead of just instantly knowing how to, when you select the appropriate perk. Anyways, daedric armor should be extremely hard to come by, even for the nerevarine, as it was in Morrowind. Obtaining these things should feel like an accomplishment, not just some everyday thing that average joe does for a living.
Kind regards.

I agree. I've actually
I agree. I've actually written up a quest for this very thing which I hope we can accommodate. Unfortunately, because of the way Skyrim handles armor as just 'pair of boots', 'pair of gloves', a helmet, and 'pauldrons/cuirass/greeves', it will be a lot easier to make a full suit of daedric armor than it was in Morrowind. In fact, until Tribunal it was impossible to get a full suit of daedric armor without console commands or killing Divayth Fyr. But the quest to make it will be daunting as hell, while still being fun.
