Looking good!
Hi I have the Update of the model
after talk with EricCristensen I do some corrections to my model so here is
A few WIP shots from other Daedra buildings.
These buildings will be modeled in the idea that they were freshly constructed, Then we will do a distruction pass once everything is made. This way we can have a few different types of ruin. from heavily ruined to something that has been sheltered away, but is still in a state that is obviously ancient.
We will also be doing a pass for some of the more overgrown ruins, where vines and shrubs have taken over. Giving the rock a more mossy feel.
Anyway, onto images
We are currently using the morrowind textures until we get the time to make our own (Textures like this take time, so i do not expect to have them done until the rest of the models are complete)
This will also allow us to work out what textures we need to make, to prevent the over-creation of textures.
Moss test
Also here is the first test of a ruined building
On a scale this is at the 'clean' end, everything else should be far more ruined.
Cool!
REMINDER: 3D and 2D artists, Don't forget to contribute to the Official Skywind Gallery http://tesrenewalskywind.deviantart.com/
Did some streaming of asset creation, made a ruin piece, also started work on the other building style.
WOOO Amazing stuff
I have some update, is more old and swampy and the other is just more old
here is some walls I started today and you can see the model of the stair

It might be worth it to have Boethiah's shrine become more than just a statue for the opportunity to see a daedric ruin in all its original glory. I suppose some of the other ruins may have been better maintained over the years too. Azura's especially.

Hi guys update of the walls I have all models done.. next texture
cheers!

Off-topic, but I think these look fantastic. Some really solid work!
Looking tight Guys!
Fantastic walls Pentage! You could possibly even make the brick texture slightly larger, then 'Push out' some of the bricks to give the wall a feeling of depth and scale.
I did a picture tutorial on this for someone else, but it gives the general idea of what I am thinking of.

On another subject, I did a livestream of some asset creation, so if you want to watch any past videos just look here: http://www.twitch.tv/shrogg/profile/past_broadcasts
Great! Erik I see your process , it was really helpful I used in this model and updated the old ones https://skfb.ly/BUWA
I just done another wall and I use the technique of multi sub material much much faster than unwrap uvw but I prefer the last one because give more control of the i want to do
but until we have the textures will be ok :D
a comparison between this 2 ways to do

comments please!
The mesh is looking fantastic, However the way you have laid out the texture is very random at the moment, Try limiting yourself to two or 3 textures, Generally a brick texture and a dirt/rubble texture is a good start, and the 'dae_edge2' texture for some small detailing.
Keep up the good work!
Loving the progress dude. Keeeeeeeeeep it up!
Oh. That would be nice to see some relatevely not broken buildings on Daedric sites.
Maybe even some useful as player or NPC's homes. Filled with authentic loot.
well I post my lamp

and a image with the models i have ready to texture and other with only walls ready ...

I do more like broken walls, but I will improved for more new walls and not to old ...also I create some new stuff like a Daedric table and a little other thing
Looks amazing, both of you!
I love all of it! Totally keeps in line with original look from Morrowind, but improves on it with a new level of detail. Great job! Also I'm really impressed with how you two kept it consistent, even though it was made by two people, it still looks as one, whole, complete set :D
Just as something to add to the evil essence of the daedric ruins exterior, I think it would be cool if someone were to add carved stone faces on some of the walls. Otherwise, I like it a lot.
Thanks for the awesome comments guys!

There will be a bunch of misc objects coming soon to spice the actual ingame ruins up, like rubble piles, strange sculptures and Chaotic looking warped buildings :)
In-fact i was doing some tests earlier for skew/warped look, let me know what one you like most!
1 has a twist + bend
2 has just a twist
3 has just a bend
4 is a Skew
1 and 3 are the ones to go with. 2 looks too even and elegant, and 4 just looks like it's falling over.
Awesome, thanks!
As a side note here are all of the existing exterior Morrowind models as an example on how destroyed/warped they are and will give you guys/gals an idea of how much stuff Pentage and I have made :)
I don't really think the twists are the way to go if you want a 'warped' look. Warping would come from having doorways off-kilter, tilted planes instead of level planes.

Whoever this guy is has a good eye for the slight warping.
Yeah, Most of the stuff isn't warped and just really worn down (From looking at the original files, A lot of it appears to be built that way, Like with bricks that make no logical sense at all
The warped buildings look unnatural, I do not like to see that effect in game. It makes me think about the modifiers used to get the effect.
Sweet as! This was the exact reason why I asked!
Instead of warping the model, i would make it look like the foundation stonework is coming loose and producing the effect.
But i do like the how by warping the model, you have given it a much more naturalistic 'ruined' silhouette - its a little more chaotic.
You can use modifiers like this on parts of the model, but don't over do the effect, just don't make it look strange.
I think smaller warps in more places would give off a better effect as opposed to one major warp applied to the whole structure. That way it would still give off "out of place" unearthly feeling, without making it too forced. And Sjors - unnatural is what Daedric ruins are, but it does feel a bit... Artificial is probably a better word to describe it.
Putting this here... because. Just changed the shrunken warped bits to be more broken and compressed outwards.
Following up Robbins post with some pieces for the main kit
Bang on
Daedric ruins are not unnatural!
They only have a different building style,
They're more than that, they looked very warped in vanilla Morrowind for a reason - they're basically open rifts to Oblivion planes, that's why so many Daedric creatures still spawn there, thousands of years after they were abandoned (I know many have cultists in them, not all though).
Any thoughts on an actual ruined Oblivion portal as an easter egg?
> easter egg
= temporal paradox
I fail to see how it is a paradox alysander. It may be recognized by Oblivion fans, but I highly doubt that Oblivion gates did not appear before the Oblivion crisis.
I don't have the detailed knowledge of Elder Scrolls lore I once had but I'm fairly certain the Oblivion gates were a new phenomenon at that time, as they functioned like nails who drilled through the barrier between Mundus and Oblivion, and were like tunnels between the two realms. Past Daedric incursions into Mundus have been mostly through isolated incidents like summonings, direct influence from a Daedric Prince to transport a specific Daedra into Mundus, or sufficiently powerful Daedra who can somehow infiltrate the barrier. Oblivion Gates were systematic invasion portals used by Mehrunes Dagon.
Even though it seems like I'm arguing against the idea, I actually think it would be a nice little 'on-the-nose' easter egg to put the remains of an Oblivion Gate on a remote Daedric ruin! (irregardless of it being a time paradox, we'll just call it a mini-Dragon Break hehe)
then maybe it's design should be radically changed.
it can be like oblivion gate test prototype.
The liminal bridges between Mundus and Oblivion have opened at least one other time before the titular game, the dragonfires were unlit during the interregnum.
The Interregnum is a special case in which main Elder Scrolls lore was changed to accommodate Molag Bal's Planemeld but even then, he used Dark Anchors and not Oblivion Gates (Granted, its patato/patato at this point so you're absolutely right). There have been other instances of liminal bridge-crossing like Mehrunes Dagon's assault on Mournhold but I don't remember anything being comparable to the scale of the Oblivion Crisis.
Molag took advantage of the interregnum's lack of dragonfires the most, that is where the lore is altered. However, there is the opportunity for any of the realm's portals to be activated during this time, and ESO even has at least one Deadlands portal the player can enter. With no standing emperor of dragon blood, the dragonfires would have to be unlit then, regardless of if ESO is taken into account.
I'd be wary of mentioning putting in ESO stuff as official Easter eggs or the like. A lot of people here seem to be rather hostile toward ESO.
Both sides of this has an argument. I feel the best option is to have a broken up gate, just recognizable enough, and not the same as the ones appearing in Oblivion. Like Malkochson said, maybe near an isolated Daedric ruin...
